Overall Personality:
Leda is hard working and super focused individual. She’s a public relations guru in the Department of International Magical Cooperation, and she loves her job. She’s very direct in what she wants to have carried out and when in regards to professional matters. As a result she can often come off as short, but generally tries to temper this tendency to be brief for the sake of not offending. In the professional sphere of her life Leda is pleasant but serious. She knows her business etiquette and has it down cold to the point where it is effortless. Since her daughter’s birth she has been struggling a little to balance work and time with her daughter. She wants to be a present parent and highly successful in her career field. She is still working out how to make that happen, and also if that can happen.
Leda keeps her personal life separated out from her professional one for the most part. Bits do overlap much to her displeasure. She’s aware that part of her ability to enter the field that she is in came through her family connections, but she’s sensitive about that being listed as the only reason she is in the position she is in. She avoids discussion of her personal life, save for with close friends. Around those that she is closer to the serious front relaxes some and she’s able to speak more freely. When she does get overwhelmed she makes sure to make an exit before showing any sort of strong emotion.

Father: Julius Hector Selwyn
Mother: Dionne Aglaia Selwyn (nee Fawley)
Siblings: Neria Epona Selwyn
Others: Castilia Neria Selwyn - Daughter
Birth Place: Derbyshire, England
Current Residence: London, England
Overall History:
Leda was the oldest of two children born to Julius and Dionne Selwyn. As it turned out, it was practically perfect timing. The Selwyn’s were eager to pull some attention back to their family in a more positive light following the second wizarding war about five years earlier. The Selwyns were one of the old pureblood families, and while Julius and his at the time new wife Dionne had stayed out of the conflict some of Julius’ cousins had not. What was worse than getting involved was the fact that they had chosen the wrong side, and the family couldn’t seem to find a way to best brush off that embarrassment. As a result they had been waiting out the backlash towards the old pureblood families. However, with the birth of Leda, followed about two years afterwards by Neria, they saw fit to move back into more public spheres.
Leda’s childhood was relatively painless. Her parents were often occupied with this event or that, but still did make good time to spend with the girls. This wasn’t done in an active sense per say, there were no family vacations or bonding activities, but they were present. Neither she nor Neria wanted for attention, as that came in a constant stream of instructions, critiques, and little compliments from her parents, grandparents, tutors, and aunts and uncles of varying degrees. It wasn’t a bad life, but it was a very directed one. Her first bits of freedom didn’t truly come around until she was on her way to Hogwarts. The realization seemed to have hit them all. That night ate feast Leda found that she could have whatever she liked and made a meal entirely out of dessert, threw it all up two hours later, and never touched a piece of cake again after that. It was an important lesson to learn. She could do as she pleased, but that didn’t always mean that she should do as she pleased.
Leda excelled at her schoolwork when she did it, but was more than glad on occasion to put it aside. Her academic skips went largely unnoticed once Neria came to Hogwarts. Leda’s younger sister was decidedly the hell raiser between the two. This meant that often Leda had the advantage of flying under the radar on her mistakes, and soaring far above it with her successes. She did well for herself at school, fifth year she was a prefect, and by seventh year she was head girl. Graduation came, and then was followed by a decent position with the Ministry of Magic. Leda very quickly proved herself and rose rank well. The salary that came with her position allowed her to live independently, and everything seemed to be in order.
Then, two years later she made a mistake. That mistake was followed by morning sickness and a positive pregnancy test. Her parents did not take the news well, for fear that another stigma was about to be stuck to them, but they did support Leda’s decision to keep the baby. Leda continued to work until her daughter was born two months ago, and now is trying to figure out how to make work and single motherhood work. At this point for her the best solution seems to be finding some way to make the day just a few hours longer without using a time turner.
