Alya stood tall on the pedestal as her new inky black robes were freshly hemmed. There was nothing else she loved more than getting new robes before school: a brand new start, clean and perfect. Considering how much she had grown in the last year, this was an absolute must. There was no way she would ever walk around in clothes that were ill-fit and refused to look anything but her best. Some called her Obsessive-compulsive but she preferred the term "meticulous." Perfection was to be strived for in everything, from her grades to her appearance. She was seventeen, her future on the horizon and this the last set of robes she'd ever have to buy for school.
She rolled her eyes as the seamstress continued to chatter about something; her children, her cat, something that Alya could care less about. Why did they always think that she cared about their life? She wanted to focus on walking down the hall, the perfect saunter, an easy smile on her lips as she passed the gawking first years. Might as well make the perfect first impression on everyone, the first day of her seventh year. Completely single and a forced to be reckoned with.
A pin went into her leg and she cried out, pulled out of her daydreams. "Will you be careful? I'd rather not be maimed or have any bloodstains on my new robes. Unless you would like it taken out of your measly paycheck, of by the looks of the gray roots coming in you desperately need." Alya snatched the robe out of the woman's hand with a sneer. "Now. How about you go get the manager right now and I don't get you fired?" She smiled rudely at the woman as she watched her rush away. Not that she would actually have this woman fired but it was always fun to keep the help on their toes.
