Ari brushed some of her hair out of her eyes and tried to focus on the books in her hand. She needed to pick up some things for her seventh year of Salem, but her daughter was having too much fun kicking her kidneys. There really was no hiding her stomach anymore, she was clearly pregnant and due in two months. She rubbed her stomach, hoping that it would cause Daisy to relax a little bit. The little girl wasn't even out of her yet and she was horribly spoiled by Gaspard. Whenever he would speak French to Ari's belly, Daisy calmed down and stopped kicking Ari enough to let her sleep for even a few minutes.
She knew that when Daisy was finally in her arms, she would become even more spoiled by her father. Ari put the book on Runes down and looked along the other titles that might be helpful for the classes. Professor Hedlund was always one of her favorites, and ever since he looked after her for a summer she looked up to him like a big brother. She had a feeling that most of the staff saw her as that scared little first year with no family to go home to. They probably all already knew that Gaspard had to leave the school. If she knew her father, he would have made sure that none of them knew that he was the father of Ari's child. Better to save herself from their judgement that way.
Ari glanced at her protruding stomach in her yellow dress and knew that her daughter would never have to worry about that.
The brunette looked back up, hearing the bell from people walking in and out of the store in the background. Sooner or later the other people in her house would find out about her baby, so she might as well embrace it now. They could say what they wanted about her. Question who the father was, all of it. She knew that she was loved by Gaspard and that the baby growing inside of her might have come at an poor time, but would always be loved.
