Overall History:

Scott was born to Jack and Elaine Hartley, their first and only child. Jack, being an Army Ranger, moved around quite a lot throughout his years in the service, taking his family with him wherever he was so stationed. Growing up in such an environment, Scott learned to appreciate the histories of the places he’s been, and grew to love the adventure that came with moving around. As a result, in his later years, Scott never decided to settle down. He has no permanent residence outside of Salem, and he enjoys flying by the seat of his pants.

Scott is an alumna to Salem School of Witchcraft, as for the most of the time, they were living somewhere in the United States. In school, he excelled in History of Magic, as he was always fascinated by the back story behind things. After he graduated Salem, Scott proceeded in doing the only thing he knew – travelling. The Hartley family was fairly well to do, and supported Scott and his travels, and let him do so until he decided to get a more permanent setting.

Soon, Scott returned to ye old homestead (or school, rather) and found a job in teaching the one subject he had grown to love – History. Scott gave a great, and fresh perspective to the subject he taught because of his adventures about the globe. When he would speak of the Giant Wars Scott would bring out pictures of the times he’s visited or artifacts from the battlefields. He very much enjoys sharing stories of his adventures, and can often get distracted from the lesson when he goes off on these tangents.

Scott currently resides at Salem, and has been teaching History of Magic there for the past five years. He still doesn't have a permanent residence, nor does he feel like he wants one anytime in the near future. His current plans for the summer include revisiting several historical cities in Europe, and quite possibly a trip to Australia for some unwinding time. He’s not too sure about anything though – nothing’s ever set in stone.
