Overall Personality: Klaus is what you would call a bad ass. He takes no shit and has a comeback for seemingly everything. He doesn't care about anything in general, and seems to judge a person on the first sentence they utter. Easily talked into things that benefit him, Klaus is one to gamble and smoke, which is precious for someone so young. Who cares?

He has a way with words, and is quite the charmer. If you deserve it, he might give you some advice to your problems, but remember, he judges your character and doesn't change his mind easily. He likes to watch chaos and things get out of control, and doesn't get involved unless absolutely necessary. He rarely shows emotion, although he does have them, he just doesn't like to seem weak. Because, seriously, look at the guy.

Chaos is what killed the dinosaurs, darling. It's not his problem when other people have things to deal with. He enjoys watching others struggle before he offers his advice. Though due to his cynicism and his pleasure in seeing a good "burn", he would sometimes purposely give his more gullible friends bad advice on purpose so he could watch their plans end in disaster for his own entertainment. Regarding more serious matters, he shows compassion and empathy and gives his friends very good advice, showing he has a good sense of virtue.

Niklaus despises authority. His displays of rebellion include smoking marijuana and cigarettes, drinking beer, and a devout interest in conspiracy theories. Though he may seem sarcastic and careless, as well as manipulative at times, over the course of friendship, he shows a more mellow and real side.

Overall History:

So it's frustrating to bring up Niklaus' history, but it's quite simple. He is a pure-blooded wizard and Scottish. He was raised to hate muggle-borns and blood-traitors, and was placed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry at the age of eleven. He was put into Gryffindor house, which completely stunned his parents as they thought for sure he was a natural born Slytherin, and he seemed to be through the three years he spent there.

One night, at dinner, was when he questioned his parents. Why would they hate those people? They hadn't done anything to him, so why should he? This caused a very heated discussion which resulted in his then thirteen year old self to go to bed without dinner. Well, damn guys. That's a pretty rough punishment there. This little scuffle caused the parents to send Niklaus to Alabama, nearest the only family that would suit him better, though he wasn't directly placed within their reach. In the state and city, but they found an apartment for the boy and he went to live there by himself, as a then fourteen year old, for the summer holidays. It was a nice place, because his family wasn't really poor, but not insanely rich either. Eventually though, he learned how to fend for himself.

Being the loner isn't bad, but it does count for knowing that his family was a bit spread out. He was made aware on his first day of his fourth year that there was a lad that was a year older than him, named James. The two met and he's not entirely sure where their relationship lies. You see, Niklaus' upbringing is still in him, as he cannot just let go of everything he'd lived to learn. But his own mind does speak for itself, so it's often one warring against the other and he can be conflicted. Well, we shall see where this ends up, but so far, he hasn't gotten anywhere.
