Zalea was getting quite bored talking to Ari. She seemed like a very self-centred person and quite frankly Zalea knew she could do better for company than her so she'd hang around an itty bit more in order to make sure Ari didn't go running to the Madigan's and claiming Zalea totally blanked her in the book shop. Merlin knew Ari would whine to them about anyone and anything that she made up in that ridiculous, self absorbed imagination of hers. She probably even thought that she was the greatest little student at Salem when truth was she was just an irritating orphan that had wormed her way into a decent family that were too kind to shoo her away.
Well what a surprise! Sarcasm. Zalea had no surprises that Ari wanted to hang out with Paul. She was just flaunting herself freely to all the Madigan boys, trying to get into their pants and why? Who the heck knew. Ari probably did it because she thought it would make her feel accepted and loved, but everyone else knew it was just the opposite, no one could stand her let alone love her. "The summer's long enough, you could do both." She suggested dully now that they weren't talking about her. She thought Ari was an idiot for not thinking of that herself. Honestly, people seemed to think that Ari was smart but it was only because she clung on to Professors to get good grades, thinking that she was being their friend when in actuality they just gave her good grades to keep her away. She was a needy individual but Zalea would expect some orphans to be like that, in need of constant attention but she wished Ari was one of those orphans that knew their place, to the side, in silence, not making a peep because they had already come to the realisation that they weren't loved. By anyone.
Zalea forced a fake sort of smile as Ari spoke of the summer being fun either way. Well as long as she didn't have to see much of Ari's face then she didn't really have much to complain about thankfully. "That is so true." She smiled with a sense of fake enthusiasm about her but not enough to be blatantly obvious. "Anywho, I have to be heading off. Thanks for your help on the books for dad. Have a great winter and I'll see you back at school or lurking at the Madigan's, seeing that you're going to be living there and all." She said with a small little wave before heading to the counter of the store, dropping the books at the desk and just walking out without buying a single thing. She'd come back later when Ari wasn't around. The needy attention seeker was annoying.
