She knew she should have gotten her car looked at. The heater was busted but she had it booked in to get looked at in a weeks time. That wasn’t going to do her much good now. The tow truck hooked up her car and pulled the huge hunk of dead metal onto its back. There wasn’t space in the front seat for her to ride as apparently the passenger seat belt was busted. Just her luck, that meant that she was stood, waiting in the middle of nowhere, waiting for a friend to come pick her up so she could just head home.
Tab waited quietly, pulling her coat around herself tightly. There was nothing around. She was on the side of the road waiting patiently. Home was a fair way away from where she was now and her business out of town would just have to wait until another day, a day when her car hadn't decided to just die for no reason. The only problems she'd been having it recently was the heater so why had the engine decided to stop? Tab was not a car sort of person. She could change a tire, put fuel in and do a few other basics but that was about all.
The road she was stood staring blindly at was a fork road. To the left was the town she was heading towards, to the right … well actually she didn’t know, every time she’d tried heading down that road she’d had to turn back around. She did some of the most ridiculous things. One time she’d even thought she’d left her stove on, driven all the way home and then had to head back again. The strange thing was that road wasn’t on any map or sat nav she’d ever come across. It just showed as a dead end but it clearly wasn’t, it went on and on as far as the eye could see. Tab didn’t think too much about it. She’d never needed to head down that road and she’d only ever tried to head down it because she was curious. There was never a reason behind it.
Tab looked down the road she’d never gotten more than a few feet along. He curiosity was spiking as she thought of maybe talking a walk down the road but she figured she best stay where she was. Her lift probably hadn't even left town yet which would have given her a bit of time to explore but she decided she was better off waiting where she was, just in case she got herself lost up that road. She would definitely check out that road at some point in the future but for now she was alone on the side of the road with only her gun, badge and handcuff’s for company and the sound of a chiming clock tower that didn't sound so far away but she couldn't see just where it was coming from. Very strange.
