The past few days had been annoying. Parker had not been in the best moods and the weather was not helping any of that. Rain had been pouring form the skies. Luckily when Parker woke up this morning the sun was up to great him, along with an owl. He grunted as the snowy bird tapped at his window. It was time to get up.

Parker rolled out of his bed, sleep still apparent in his heavy eyes. He unlatched the window and the bird flew in dropping a note on his desk. “Yeah thanks,” Parker mumbled at the owl. With a hoot it was gone. What now? Parker never liked owls. Birds in general bothered him.

He snatched up the letter and uncurled it. “Owlbrook?” the man spoke looking curiously at the letters scrawled on the parchment. A town that was transitioning into the wizarding community? Parker grimaced. That meant there would be muggles walking around being naive and hard head about magic. Gross. It looked like he was going to be taking a little day trip.

A quick jump in the shower and then some food and he would be off. Parker was less than excited to walk around a place that held ideals that he was against. It was what he was told to do though, so do it he would. After his breakfast Parker shrugged on a jacket and started on his way. Parker had gotten himself a motorcycle a couple of weeks ago. He hadn’t had the chance to use it yet because of the weather. It seemed like today was the da. As much fun as it would be a broom wouldn’t nessisarly be discreet and that was part of his job description, for today anyway. Blend in and make them trust you. That was how it worked.

The bike started up with a rumble and he was off down the street. Parker passed through the vale that separated magical Salem form the rest. He spotted a blond standing on the street looking annoyed. He slowed down and stopped in front of her. “You need some help?” A helpful passerby: that was a good way to start getting on a strangers good side. “It’s a little far from anywhere to just be walking,” A kind crooked grin crawled onto Parker’s lips. It was a well-practiced smile.

Parker leaned forward so his chin was resting on his hands he watched her. He could see that she didn’t trust him. She probably came from a small time, where everyone knew everyone. People like that were harder to get to trust. It would take more than a kind smile and a nice gesture.

The way she said ‘my town’ made him think that he was right about that small town lady thing. “Well I need to get to this place called Owl Brook. You happen to be going that way? Maybe you can help me and you get a ride. Two birds with one stone or whatever that saying is.”

If she was going to be stubborn and proud then he would leave her there to walk. With the weather the way it had been she would be stupid to trust that she just wouldn’t be caught in a rain storm. So far the skies were blue but the wind was picking up.

He sat up and crossed his arms. “Look I promise that I’m not some crazed killer,” Well that might not have been completely true. Parker hadn’t really killed anyone but he was trained and set to do so when he needed to. And he couldn’t deny that some of his ideals were a little crazy. Every one had something they would fight tooth and nail for. So he felt that in the end he wasn’t that different from most people. He just wasn’t afraid to completely accept what he was and stood for. “I’m just someone who is new and needs a little help. And it seems like you at least sort of know your way around and need some help.”

Parker figured it would look better rolling into a new town with someone who was from there. She might even take him to some of the local hot spots introduce him to some of the residence. That would make his day a whole lot easier.

He could see the doubt in her eyes. It was annoying how hard this was proving to be. Normally woman weren’t that hard to convince. He might have been a snake in the grass ut his goals were different from getting into their pants. Rarely was Parker ever looking for that. Most woman could see that and that simple fact made it worlds easier to cox nice glossy smiles from their lips. Not this blond.

Good. So she could help him. If she would just stop being so stubborn. Her mouth turned to a smile. He didn’t buy it, just like she wasn’t going to buy all his words. “Great,” He said sitting up, grin widening. He wasn’t going to drop the lost nice guy thing. He had to play it up for all it was worth. She already didn’t trust him. There was no reason to give her an actual reason to think that her suspicions were correct.

She asked about a helmet and he nodded. Parker reached back and unlatched the saddle bag. He pulled out the spare helmet. “Here you go,” Parker held it out. “It might be a bit big, but if you tighten the chin strap it should do just fine.” He spoke kindly enough. Would she not have gone if he didn’t have that helmet? Parker had fallen off of brooms that were going faster than a motorcycle. Not to mention the couple of feet off the ground he was. Though, Parker supposed there was something to safety first.

“Mkay if you are ready hop on and we will get going once you tell me what way to go,” He then instructed with a light laugh. Parker knew what way to go. He almost forgot that to this woman he was a lost traveler. He also had to decide on a reason to be there for her. ‘Oh you know just scoping out the muggle population, you know so I know how much of your town to burn down,’ didn’t seem like it would go over well. She was already iffy with him. Parker would get her to trust him. That was his goal by the end of the day. A friend in the new town, that he was checking out to see if he wanted to move in. That was good, it gave him a solid reason to be there and maybe a good way to talk her into showing him around. Or at least to point him to someone who would be the tour guide.

Parker did have to admit that as annoying as it was that she was skeptical it would probably keep her alive longer than most people. In his life it was surprising seeing how easy it was to get people to trust him. Then again he did manage to get her to agree to the ride. So she may only live five minutes longer.

He watched her put on the helmet and tighten the strap. He smiled, it was a cute look. She would have been someone that Parker would be more inclined to flirt with if the woman would smile more. Her nature was a lot more gruff than he expected form a blond stuck on the side of a road. Life probably hadn’t been the easiest for this woman. Or maybe she had a job where she had to prove her skin was tough. Either way she was like the rest of them eventually, willing to get on the back of a bike with a man who showed them a nice smile and offer of kindness.

“Parker,” He offered his name in return for hers. Tab, probably short for something. That or her parents were possibly more crazy than his mother. Then again his name was just a collection of last names.

She climbed on. He made sure that she was secure before bringing the bike back to life. Parker nodded and then they were off down the road. It didn’t take long to get to the quant little town. He found a place to pull the bike into and shut it off. “Mkay, you are home m’lady,” He spoke looking back to her before taking off his own helmet and running a hand through his hair.

Parker scanned the area before he got off of the bike and pocketing the keys. “It looks nice. Is it pretty quite?” He asked. Now he had to actually do his job, gather information. He already knew that it was primarily a muggle town. IF this woman was from her there was a chance she herself was one. Still he would have to treat her nicely, there was also the chance that she was a witch. Time would tell with that. Now hopefully he could talk her into a tour of the town and get most of what he needed form her in the proses.

Parker caught a couple of the towns folk looking their way. He grinned. This was almost a joke, how much Owlbrook was a character of a small town. Or so far it was with it’s quite streets and manicured lawns. The way the people glanced and whispered about something that was new. It seemed this Tab woman would be the talk of the town for a little while because she came rumbling in on the back of a stranger’s bike.

Parker nodded as she backed up his assumption. That could make things interesting or be terribly dull. He assumed that most of these people were muggles. It almost made him cringe. There had been plenty of towns that were muggle. He hated it. Parker didn’t like having to hide what he was. It wasn’t like these people could do much to him. He had magic and skills beyond just spell casting. They would be stupid to test him. It was disgusting how week these people were and how he had to bend to them. Were they really so feeble minded that they couldn’t handle the idea of magic and fantastical creatures?

He took the spare helmet from Tab and put it away with his own in the settle bag, clasping it shut. He turned on his heel to look at the blond woman. “I’m actually looking into moving here.” He shrugged, eyes glancing around scoping out the area around. “I got a job offer in Boston but the city is crazy and it’s sort of pricey to live there so I’m scoping out some smaller towns around, I would rather commute and be able to get a good nights sleep, you know.” He laughed as if she could relate.

“It seems nice so far,” He mused. Normally Parker would throw something in there about about the woman being as beautiful as the scenery. Something told him that she wouldn’t take kindly to that. He needed to not lay it on as thick as he did in other situations. “So what is there to see around Owlbrook” He cocked a brow confidant she would take the bait and he wouldn’t be stuck stalking around the town on his own.

Parker thought it was perfectly reasonable to say he was having trouble finding his way to the town while still thinking of possibly moving there. He had never said where he was from originally, he had said that he was looking at towns in the area. Parker was sure to leave some specifics out. Make peope ask for more if they needed it he would come up with them.

He could see that Tab was reaching for reason’s to not trust him. Her eyes were harsh and judgmental. Parker still stuck with the smile on his face and pep of a young man with a bright future ahead of himself. He shoved his hands in his pockets and stood looking at the blond with a silly op sided smile. “Small towns feel more like home, I thought maybe for a little that the city life would be better, tried that for a spell, moved back home after a while and life is just trying to get me to try it again. I know better it’s just a little too crazy.”

Parker was going to get this woman to open up to him. He needed her to. From toe to heel he rocked lightly. She was being icey. That seemed like no way for a pretty fair haired lady of a small town to act. Why was she such a pain. Normally it wouldn’t be this hard. Though he liked a challenge.

Green eyes fallowed as she pointed he mentally noted everywhere she listed. “Oh now there can’t be just that. Though a good small town café is almost enough to have me hooked. Family owned?” He then asked eyes bright with the possibility. Parker was starting to get into this character. He figured the more he was into the easier it would be for her to believe him. He just had to be careful of keeping all the details right.

Parker nodded. “I did,” He informed simply, still smiling. As if the nostalgia was taking over. Though it seemed like she was relaxing around him, but still she wasn’t going to let him off easy. Though it was annoying and he still wasn’t sure if she was a muggle or not he would have fun dealing with her judgy attitude.

“So far it seems really nice,” He took some time to look around again. The weather was helping add to the charm of the town. Still it was a muggle town, there was no way he would ever settle in a place where he had to compromise who he was because poor nonmagical people couldn’t accept it. He sort of wished he could just set fire to the place and call that a day and walk away.

Most of the places here were probably the same. That was what happened in places like this. Everyone did everything the same every day. It was boring, quant but boring. “That sounds awesome,” He nodded. Good. She was going to show him around. Though he couldn’t help but figure it was because she would have rather keep an eye on him that just let it roam free. He would win this blond over, their next shake she got him would simply be out of the kindness of her heart rather than thinking that he was going to cause a ruckus.

“I bet they make a mean shake being a family place,” That was honest. He had grown to love family owned diners and cafes because they had the best food. Parker practically lived out of diners and cheap hotels when he left Salem to go find his father. It was also a good place to learn how to blend in and talk with all sorts of people. Whenever he would enter a place like that he would choose a person to sit next to and bring up conversation, learn how to form his attitude so that he could get their story out of them.
