Dekker was in it for the long hall. As much as he might have been a brat underneath it all he wasn’t one who took things on lightly. Be it military or not, if anything was worth doing it was worth doing right. That meant that receiving Tahlia’s love was with open arms and forever. Promises for eternity were hard to make but Dekker would always be there to wake up next to her day in and out. The problems they might run into he was prepared to work through and come out stronger as a couple because of it. That was what it really was looking the same direction while hand in hand.
It was comfortable having her there nestled up to his arm. It was the feeling of home he had only ever felt when he was in a tattoo shop with a machine in his hand. It didn’t matter what they had done in their pasts, what their human lives had been when they were near each other. Perhaps that was what Dekker loved about Tahlia, she didn’t care what he did. She didn’t look at him differently like everyone had his whole life. People would judge based off of the tattoos or his leg. Tahlia just saw him and that was what she loved. It was the same the other way around. Yes his Darlin’ was beautiful with her hazel eyes and autumn colored hair, but she was more than that. She was more than the quick witted owner of the Doll House. He loved her in the moments after they were intimate, how she would nestle into his side.
Dekker looked down at her every so often as the movie played on. The way Tahlia took things in was different from him. He loved to see how she used and reacted to things that were familure to him, and even things that were new. They both had trouble with computers and that was one of those little things that made a small smile tweak at the corner of his lips. This movie, he could see the excitement dance around her eyes as she watched.
“No, I think that is a beautiful thing to think,” He smiled. Dekker was not often an optimistic person despite the word being scrawled across his fingers. “I know my dreams came true so why can’t Dorothy’s?” Dekker snuck a small kiss onto her lips.
