Looking at this girl, just like most of his students, and he was happy to see that they enjoyed school. There were of course students who didn’t, who struggled. Those who had issues at home, with friends. Those who where lonely. Felix tried his best to connect but rarely did he actually get to. It was hard because he couldn’t relate.
Growing up back in Sweden he had money, a loving family, he just lacked social skills. Books always brought more friendship to him than any person could. Felix knew that some of the people he went to school with at Durmstrang would say it was because he was a spoiled brat. The money connected with his family name went to his head and rotted it. Felix never thought of himself as better but he didn’t have much in common with most people so he shrugged it off and let them say what they wanted. Now his work seemed to rely on a personality that he didn’t exactly have. Only if a student truly connected with the subject that he thought did he have a way in. Sadly not as many did as he would have liked.
It was still a mystery how all the word Harrow managed to break through that impossible wall. The Care of Magical Creatures professor sure was one in a million and he was lucky enough to snag him before someone else understood how special Harrow was.
“Then I look forward to teaching you more about them.” Most of the third years just starting in his class only knew runes as an alphabet, not a way to use magic. There was so much to go over. It was interesting to see the reactions, some students took the information and dove head first. Others were confused and skeptical of their powers, a lot like divination. And the two were closely linked. It seemed that Runes had links in many different forms of magic.
Felix chuckled along with Noelle. “It is good to see we have something in common. Though potions was never my strong suit, you might be surprised and end up flourishing in those lessons.” She was young and hand plenty of years to figure out what her strong suit was, he future was bright and Noelle had endless avenues to explore.
