Sabine wiped the blood from her face, she was sure that her nose was broken and the blood was sliding down her arms. Kasper was in another one of his rages, claimed that she looked at someone else. Said that she was flirting with the American bartender and she would cheat on him with the man. Even when Sabine insisted that she didn't, that she would never cheat on him with someone else. She leaned against the wall and felt salty tears fall down her face. She would only leave him for Jasper.
Jasper.
The man who she should be with right now. The man who should be holding her and pressing kisses into her hair while whispering sweet words. Not his brother who pulled her hair until she was sure that some of her golden brown strands were tangled into his fingers. Her blood over his fists, her stomach bruised from his kicks. She knew that he would expect an apology from her. Would expect her to crawl into his bed and apologize for her punching him in the face as defense. For her screaming at him that he was a piece of shit.
Words that she would never say to Jasper.
Crawling carefully towards the window, she saw one of the inns owls perched on the sill. She motioned for the bird to come closer to her, and attached a blood stained letter to it's leg. Her blood dotted the pages and her words made her cry more. He had to know. She had to see him, and she knew that he might assume that she was trying to earn some sympathy for how she looked, but that wasn't it. She was over all of this. She was tired of being hurt, and she had to tell Jasper about what was happening. He was the only one who she could trust with the confession.
"Please find Jasper Wilkes." She whispered to the bird, leaning back against the wall to keep her head from spinning. Her lungs protested the movement, causing her to cough up some blood. He did something to her stomach. Just her luck. Sabine closed her eyes and thought about the letter she wrote.

Jasper,
I have no right to write you, and I know that. I didn't deserve to marry you, I certainly don't deserve to see you now. I just need you. Jasper I'm hurt. Kasper hurt me. I'm at The Three Broomsticks, in the second room from the stairs.
If you don't come, I'll understand. I owe you an explanation about what happened. About why I left.
Please.
-Sabine.
