The school holidays had begun and Netta was looking forward to trying to be normal. At least for a couple of days. If she could manage for a just a few days until they travelled then she would let herself have some fun while she was away. Until then she wanted to be "normal". Her parents weren't so sure about her these days and disliked the idea that she'd invited a Durmstrang student down for the weekend. They were pretty certain that she'd end up killing him or something. Netta just rolled her eyes at her parents, promised that she wasn't going to even hurt him a little because he was a friend and she wasn't some kind of freak. Well she was but they felt bad and gave permission for Lykke to stay but he had to have his own room which Netta was fine with, she figured Lykke probably wouldn't want to share with her anyway, though if he got lonely she was sure her could climb into her twin brother Nathaneal's bed.
Netta walked down from their home to the town centre. L'Anse was busy with Christmas shoppers every where. Netta was dressed up warm though she thought Lykke wouldn't mind their sort of cold. If anything this was probably warm compared to wherever Durmstrang was, but Netta didn't care about weather. She was just trying to teach herself to be normal. She'd never had a friend stay before, not even Sabine and she was never able to go stay at anyone else's home but she was technically an adult now in the wizarding world. She was seventeen going on eighteen, it was about time she tried normalising herself. She would have to actually try dating at some point, if only to keep up the appearance of being a regular teenager. She'd been told she was pretty. She'd been asked out a couple of times but the temptation to be herself was too overwhelming. Lykke was a nice task set by herself and he had the added bonus of coming with a spirit which would mean she would have to be on her best, most normal behaviour as possible so she wouldn't suspect a thing, nor Lykke.
Netta arrived at the bakery she'd arranged to meet Lykke at. She was ten minutes early so just grabbed a coffee and took a seat inside. It was warmer inside but busy also. People were stopping for something to eat before carrying on with their Christmas shopping. Netta did not understand Christmas. It was strange to her. Why would you give presents to other people on some other persons birthday that died over two thousand years ago? Not to mention he wasn't even who he claimed to be plus his name wasn't even Jesus. The english just decided to translate from a translation. Stupid English. Stupid Christmas. Stupid everything.
