His last semester seemed like an absolute blur so far. The year it self was like any other all the back at the start. Then he had met Memari and Quincy had no clue what he was getting into but he was up for the ride. Of course there was a hiccup with the break. Quinn thought that they would get some time together. She had been busy and that meant that Quincy was left to just spend time with his family.
Eventually he got to see his girlfriend and the reunion they had was so much more than Quinn ever bargained for. Sure it bothered him. Not because Memari had lied. More because there was absolutely nothing he could do for the situation. so Quinn had been doing his best not to dwell on the whole thing. Focusing on school, even getting extra help after class to make sure that he got the best marks he could. Not that grades truly mattered. His parents were just ecstatic that he could be in such a school.
Family was another good distraction even if when he first got home the worry crept up. His family was in danger, and he knew it. Quinn quickly covered up his feeling helping get ready for Ostara. The spring Equinox was at the beginning of the break and it was the first big celebration that his family’s covin held.
He was in charge of setting up the alter. This was the first year he was allowed to set up the center piece to the whole celebration. Normally his sister would take over that job. Throughout the day they would do different rituals, ones for the family the year and there was even one for the children.
Quincy had invited Memari over, with hopes that she could take comfort in something normal for a short time. Before the horror that was looming really came down. He didn’t know if she could make it. Of course he hoped so. It wasn’t just because he wanted his girlfriend there, now he just wanted to get her away from whatever he family needed her to do to help their disgusting cause.
He was outside putting some of the newly blooming flowers into a pot, being careful not to damage their roots. The sun was beating down and it was hard to believe that they had so much snow over the winter.
