Overall Personality: Neville went through a bit of a personal transformation through his years at Hogwarts, starting as a befunndling first year and ending as a rebellion leader in his seventh. He took over the leadership role when he helped rally and protect the students during that dark year at Hogwarts and helped destroy a Horcrux during the Battle at Hogwarts. He knows that most of his life was shaped by that Battle. Since he would never of had the confidence to ask out Hannah if he hadn't done all of that. While he is the Headmaster at the school, he tries to be fair to all students but will still wear Gryffindor colors during quidditch games.

When he is at home, which is often since he is one of the first headmasters not to live at the school, he is the attentive and loving husband. When he can spend time with his children at school he sometimes tries to embarrass them and make them laugh. He does the same thing with his nieces and nephews.

Overall History: Neville was born on July 30th, 1980 to Aurors Alice and Frank Longbottom. They had been trying to have a baby for a while so when Alice was finally able to have the baby boy the couple was ecstatic. When Neville was very young, he was with his paternal grandmother while his parents were away at work. That night they were tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange, Rebastian Lestrange and Barty Crouch Jr. for hours with an unforgivable curse. After that night, Alice and Frank were never the same. They were completely lost in their minds and could no longer remember the baby they wanted to badly.

Neville can't remember life where his parents weren't in St. Mungo's. His grandparents took care of him, loving him and taking him to the hospital to visit his parents whenever he wanted. When he was young, tragedy struck again and his grandfather died. It was just him and his grandmother. During his early life, his grandmother became obsessed with Neville growing up to become a strong wizard like her son. Neville didn't show any magic for a while, which made his grandmother distraught that he might be a Squib. This was disproved when his great-uncle Algie was holding him out of a window by his feet when he was offered some lemon meringue and let go. Miraculously, he bounced. Previous to this, there were various attempts to make him show signs of magic, including dropping him off Blackpool pier, where, according to Neville, he nearly drowned. Neville inherited his father's wand at the age of eleven when he started to attend Hogwarts. This wand was later broken during the Battle of the Department of Mysteries.

Neville was sorted into Gryffindor and quickly became friends with his roommates, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan. His early years are now embarrassing to look back on. He struggled with his magical training, though he always excelled in Herbology. After the Battle at Hogwarts, he started training to become an Auror with Ron and Harry. About six years into being an Auror he "re"-met his wife Hannah Abbott. While they did go to school together, their Gryffindor and Hufflepuff paths just never seemed to cross. They dated for a year before Neville proposed. Harry, Ron, Dean and Seamus were his best men and he was the happiest. His Gran, well into her years, even managed to attend the wedding.

Neville attempted to continue as an Auror, but about two years into his marriage he had a close call with a former Death Eater and Hannah begged him to quit. She was pregnant with their first son and she wanted him to have a less dangerous job. Neville never resented Hannah for asking him to quit, since his heart was always dying to go back to Hogwarts and be a Herbology professor. His first son was born, and the couple instantly fell into the roles of parents. Neville even brought his son to meet his parents at St. Mungo's. Alice and Frank still couldn't remember who he was, but agreed that the baby was adorable.

Shortly after his first daughter (third child) was born, his Gran got sick and was admitted to St. Mungo's as well. She was able to meet Neville's third child before she passed away as well. Hannah was the key to Neville getting passed the death of his primary caretaker. A few months after her death, the couple decided to try for one more child. During her last pregnancy, Hannah got pregnant with twins. Leaving them with three sons and two daughters. Hannah made him agree for no more children after their twins. Hannah took over The Leaky Cauldron, and Neville went on teaching Herbology. When McGonagall retired, she asked him to take over the school as Headmaster.

The family went out to celebrate with their extended family. Neville never had the perfect life, but now with his children in school, his beautiful wife, everything is starting to look pretty perfect.
