Overall History:
Ada Delacroix was the first and only child bore to the couple Jeanne and Michael Delacroix. Both are native to Louisiana, and have true Cajun blood back as far as they can trace. Ada has lived in the bayous all of her life and she is quite proud of her heritage.

When Ada was eight she had her first magical experience, which shocked both of her muggle parents. One summer day, little Ada was sitting in the kitchen waiting for her mother to finish cooking her lunch, when the inquisitive girl asked her mother about the dead plants in the window sill. An eyeroll and a light-hearted snarky comment later, Ada was pouting and still staring at the dead plants. Then, the strangest thing happened before her – the plants grew back to life. Beautiful, colorful, and alive. Her mother was shocked at the sight before her, and told her husband about it when he got home.

They soon wrote it off as a freak incident, but strange, little things kept occurring around Ada. Whether it was more plants, things moving by themselves, or even the lights flickering when Ada was upset, Jeanne and Michael knew something was different about Ada.

It wasn’t until Ada had turned eleven that Jeanne and Michael’s suspicions were proven correct. Ada was sent a letter of acceptance from the Salem Institute for Magic. Overcome with joy, Ada managed to persuade her skeptical parents into letting her attend.

It was at Salem where Ada met fellow newcomer and Nauset, Derek Turner. Little did she know, Derek would grow to be her best friend at Salem, and the two would begin forming a band together. Ada spends so much of her time goofing off, and practicing with Derek, that her grades very seriously reflect that. Ada is no genius, and it definitely doesn’t help that she’s been diagnosed with ADD since she was seven. She’s never really been good with school, and she finds that she has no reason to try to be. The only subjects in Salem that Ada is actually good at (when she’s not distracted) are Charms, Herbology, and Care for Magical Creatures (and the latter is only for the unicorns).

It’s now Ada’s final year at Salem, and she couldn’t be more excited. It’s time for the TriWizard Tournament, and the seventh year class gets to visit the legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, hers and Derek’s band is starting to look great, and she’s ever excited for the year of adventure that always seems to come attending a Wizarding school.
