Overall Personality: Arlo is likes to play very laid back and cool. He has an excellent poker face, especially after years of working in a not-so-honorable trade. It’s helped get him out of trouble many of times.
Though his smart mouth would put him right back in it.
Arlo has this idea that he wants to prove to the teacher’s that he’s smarter than them, and quite obviously it does not fly with them. He makes excellent grades in all of his classes with minimal effort, and he enjoys making tough tasks look easy to piss people off. He’ll play it off nonchalantly, but inside he’s grinning like a maniac.
Arlo puts his brother above everything though. Anything Arlo wants is a backburner to Damian’s. Ever since their mother died, Arlo has felt like a parent to the boy, and he practically was. He’s incredibly protective of his brother (once he got detention for two weeks, for punching this kid who was bullying his brother. It wasn’t pretty).
Overall, Arlo is cool. Collected. Smooth. He can manipulate people to do what he wants. He’s the perfect criminal, really.

Father: Vincent Vittorio
Mother: Antonella Vittorio [nee Pelegia]
Siblings: Damian _____ Vittorio (Male||15)
Others: N/A
Birth Place: Florence, Italy
Current Residence: Stockholm, Sweden (when not at Durmstrang)
Overall History:
Arlo was born to Vincent and Antonella Vittorio in Florence, Italy. The couple was native of the area, having lived there their entire lives. Two years after Arlo’s birth, his brother Damian came along. A year passed after Damian’s birth, and Vincent Vittorio was given a job promotion – in Stockholm, Sweden. Arlo was too young to remember the move, but from later accounts of his parents, they said he wasn’t pleased. The Vittorio family was living decently for the first few years; they had a nice house, with ample space for the two youngsters. That was all until Vincent was fired. He insisted to his wife he was let go, that they were making cutbacks due to the poor economy. But she knew the real reason – she had to deal with it all the time. Vincent’s temper was something that could rival an angry beehive – constantly. Due to his job, and the small age of the children, Arlo and Damian didn’t have to see much of it while he worked. The majority of their formative years were in the care of their mother, or a nanny. After Vincent was let go, things changed. There was no longer any steady income, and Vincent’s now growing alcoholism was taking a toll on what little money they had. The Vittorio’s had to sell their house, many of their belongings, and try to get by in small government housing.
It had been a year of scrounging to get by. The children, now eight and six, were practically near starvation, and Vincent still pissed away whatever money they got for alcohol. Though he never physically abused the family, the verbal and mental abuse scarred them for life. At this time Antonella fell dangerously ill. Without any money to pay for medication or treatment, the single income of the family passed away.
Arlo was devastated by his mother’s loss. Not only did he lose his only real parent, he also lost the feeling of safety. He knew, even at that age, that he would have to be the one to provide for himself and his brother. Their father would pay them no mind in his inebriated state, and they would wither away and die just like their mother if they had to depend on him. Arlo took matters into his own hands.
He tried. He really did. Arlo tried to start making an honest living, but he soon came to find that no one needed the use of an eight-year-old boy in the big city of Stockholm. So he had to turn to… Alternative sources. At first he started with the meager pilfering of bread and food from various places. As time went on his confidence grew, as did the income. In a year, Arlo was a master pickpocket, and he could provide plenty for himself and his brother. Vincent wasn’t really a concern to the boy, but out of the respect for him being Arlo’s father, he gave him a little something every now and again, with no explanation as to how he had gotten it.
Another year passed and things were looking up for Arlo and Damian. They were no longer starving little pathetic kids, but strong and street smart. Arlo refused to teach Damian any of his shifty trade, because he didn’t want to taint the boy. He didn’t want him to have to be brutally adulterated by the cold world like he was. It wasn’t easy, but being magical definitely helped in Arlo’s noble endeavor. The Vittorio family was one of the well-noted magical families of Italy, and he had no doubt that he would attend Durmstrang as soon as he turned eleven. Arlo had shown his magical abilities since he could remember; he proved to be very talented in unspoken magic (and often used his talents to his advantage; pickpocketing becomes pretty simple if you’re a wizard).
And so, as Arlo predicted, as soon as he turned eleven, he received his acceptance letter to Durmstrang Institute. In the months leading up to his departure, Arlo stole copious amounts of money, even for him. He saved everything he could, and made sure that Damian had enough to make it by until Arlo returned in the summer, and could provide for him once more. They kept it safe, and out of their father’s grasp, and though Damian might have had a few nights with a grumbling stomach, he made it through.
When Arlo got back for the summer, he took up his work right away, saving up enough money and food for Damian to survive one more year. Vincent was still a drunk bum, living on the couch in front of his television, and according to Damian he had started seeing another woman – who was just as problematic as Vincent was. But at least it kept them occupied, and kept the focus off of Arlo.
The year passed successfully again, and finally, it came time for Damian to join his older brother at Durmstrang. There, they were safe. There, food was provided for them. Arlo didn’t have to constantly worry if his brother was okay.
They could finally relax.
