It had been a weird transition, moving from her home in Denver, Colorado to residing with her ex-lover, Daemon Nott. When one added in the fact that he already had a fiance, as well as a child, things just got even stranger. When Nellie wasn't trying to drown out the pain of her past, she was seeking solace in the arms of her...well, whatever Howl was. They acted like the standard boyfriend and girlfriend pairing, but no label had been assigned to it. Maybe that was for the best, for them at least. Between all of that, she was spending time with her brother, Vance, who had made England his home. It was nice to be able to see him and, while he was rather skeptical of the situation Nellie had found herself in, he didn't prod her about it too much. Everyone knew that trying to get Nellie to fess up to something when she didn't want to was one of the quickest ways to find yourself shut out of her life. It was part of why she wasn't that close with Cora anymore. Outside of the older girl just being so incredibly different from Nellie.
She shook her head and finally managed to crawl out from beneath the plush covers of the bed that had been designated as her own. It was only for a few moments though, before she pulled the blanket up and wrapped it around her shoulders. Summer was upon them, but Nellie was still recovering from the trauma of her father's attack. It had only been a few weeks since it happened and, while she wasn't in nearly as bad of a condition as she had been, she wasn't back to her usual self. Whether that had to do with not being healed, or because it had altered her mental state, was something that no one was really sure of. One thing was certain, though. Nellie had cut both of her parents out of her life. Not that she had much choice after Daemon told her that he had packed her things and was moving her into his place. Even she knew that there was no arguing at that point, because he would insist upon it.
Nellie shuffled from her room, down the halls, and into the kitchen where she grabbed out a tub of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream and a spoon from the drawer. For a brief moment, she was tempted with the idea of a bowl, but decided against it and made her way back to her room and into bed. Reaching over to the nighstand, she grabbed the remote and pressed the red power button, watching as the screen of the television lit up. Given how quiet the house was, she had to wonder if anyone else was even here, or if she was going to be spending the day alone.
