Niqui took in a deep breath and tried to steady her breathing. Why on earth was she so nervous about this? This wasn’t even her wedding day. No matter how beautiful this ceremony was, and no matter how many pictures her mother snapped away of them, this wasn’t her wedding day. Her wedding day was back in February, standing in Hyde Park with her beloved Sebastien. Where they stood together and not caring about the rest of the world, dedicated the rest of their lives to each other. Niqui shimmied into her long white wedding dress, grinning a little over the irony of wearing a white wedding dress with her ever so slight baby bump.
She was still getting used to the idea of being pregnant again, and while it terrified her, she was excited. She would be a mother to a strong werewolf child, who would be absolutely spoiled in love and protection from both of his parents. Niqui slipped on some simple jewelry, all of her mother’s designs, and looked in the mirror at her reflection. The dress was absolutely beautiful; her mother took her original design and just ran with it. Fleur was able to make it incredible perfection, even without knowing that she would have to account for a baby bump. When her mother took her last measurements for it, she claimed that she was just gaining some weight. Fleur seemed to accept that and then went on a rant about how just because she was living on her own, didn’t mean she had to dive into junk food. Being the daughter of a former model typically had its drawbacks, but when her mother could make a dress so beautiful in such a small amount of time, it was worth it.
Niqui walked barefoot out of the all-white tent and heard some of the music beginning. Originally, she asked her friend Bryson to give her away. She thought it would be a perfect moment with her friend who did so much for her over the last seven years. With all of the recent drama, she asked him not to. Things were still strained with her cousin Rose and Niqui already had enough people out there waiting for her to trip and fall on her face, she didn’t need to add to it. Niqui took in a deep breath and smiled at her father, his warm blue eyes surrounded by the crow’s feet he would deny having, and smiled when they took away some of the anxiousness she felt and made her feel safe and secure.
“You ready for this, Dommie?”
Niqui smiled at the childish nickname and nodded at her father, taking his arm. It was strange walking out with so many people, all of them who already knew she was currently married to the man waiting for her at the other end of the aisle. No matter how far away Seb was from her, Niqui would do anything possible to get back into his arms. All of their former mistakes, all of their wrong turns, it led to this moment. She blushed a little bit when she heard the music begin and looked at her father,
“No turning back now.”
Walking in step with her father, Niqui walked down the sandy path barefoot. Over the years, she was able to fool a lot of people about her height. She consistently wore high heeled shoes, and did everything in her power to keep people from knowing it. Now, standing next to her father, it was clear how short she really was. Originally, she planned on wearing shoes during the ceremony, but now that she was pregnant, she didn’t want to risk falling on the sandy beach and causing complications.
Niqui smiled at her husband and smiled when her father kissed the top of her hands, and then her forehead. It was now for never for a second wedding to her soul mate.
