SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD
• to believe there's someone else who could be •
JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME
Dominique was still in utter shock. She – she was married. The happy couple finally returned to Hogwarts to tell all of their friends and family the good news, which for the most part was received well. All that was left was telling her Twin. Niqui loved James Potter like she was her own brother, hell they called each other Brother and Sister for a reason. It was just hard to figure out how she was going to spill the news that she eloped.
Niqui slipped into the Gryffindor Tower for what felt like the first time since she attempted suicide and took in a deep breath. A few of her cousins were rushing around, all getting back in the Post-Christmas swing of things. She was still trying to work off the last bit of the food baby that her Grandmother made with her amazing cooking skills over Christmas. Niqui smiled at one of the Thomas girls, and hugged her tightly,
“Where have you been, Niqs?”
“In Ravenclaw, have you seen Jamie around?” The Thomas girl scurried off to go find James for her, while Niqui sat down on the plush red couch. Even after all of this time away from the Tower, she still felt uncomfortable there. She eyed the staircase that would lead up to the girl dorms, the place that had been her home for so long, and felt no desire to go there. She didn’t want to be haunted by the ghosts of her mistake. She had moved on with her life, and needed to remember that. If she kept dwelling on what happened to her in that room, she would never be able to heal.
She smiled and stood up when she heard the familiar footsteps and turned to face her favorite cousin. James and Niqui had been like twins since they were born. It was even family legend that their parents had to defer to their grandmother on tips with how to deal with them. They were called the New Age Fred and George and she was sure that was why their Grandma Molly loved having them around. It was no secret that the elderly woman still felt pain at the loss of her son during the War. So having two people who could cause as much chaos around the home was like a blast from the past for her.
