Winter at Salem was probably one of her favorite times possible. She was able to see the thick layer of snow all over the campus, the warm clothes and the peppermint hot chocolate. She poured the liquid goodness into her thermos and smiled at the sleeping Gaspard on their bed. She had exhausted him the night before, and they needed to protect as many of their nights together as possible before she moved into the Madigan household and had to stay away from her lover. She smiled when her rapidly growing cats Sid and Nancy rushed into the bedroom and curled up on her still warm spot next to Gaspard.
There was no way that anyone could love another human being the way that she loved Gaspard Chavalier. He made her days worth living, and her future seem bright for once in her life. She gently kissed his forehead, being careful not to wake him up as she bundled up in her warmest clothes, took a sip of her hot chocolate and walked out into the cold. She needed a good book, and some treats for the cats, so she had no choice but to journey out to the rest of the Village.
The streets were bustling with witches and wizards as bundled up as she was, all of them with their heads down to brace against the strong wind that was whipping her long brown hair around her face. Despite her best efforts, her attempts to tame it were unsuccessful until she walked into Sanddust Books. While Salem had most everything she could need, she wanted to try to find a gift for Ian. While she knew a little bit of Spanish, she wanted to become fluent for her new family. She couldn’t think of a better gift for him, after he gave her the perfect one for Christmas.
Ari took off her scarf and shoved it into her bag, fixing her windblown hair and tucked it behind her ears with multiple piercings. Her light grey pea coat jacket was well fitting in on her lithe frame, along with a nice pair of jeans (her few pairs without holes in them somewhere, so rather fancy for Arianna), and black boots to give her traction against the snow and ice. There were only a few people in the bookstore, who really paid her no mind as she walked in. Sure she knew some familiar faces from Salem, a few of them who thought that she was less than all of them for never having a family, some who thought that she was mysterious for never talking about her past. Some who just thought that she was a bitch because well… she’s a bitch.
She shot them all a look, successfully making them peer back into their books and walked along the shelves to the language books. While most of the Spanish she knew was just from hanging around the Madigan home, but wanted to become fluent. Considering she was also taking on French for Gaspard, she knew she was going to be a busy little Nauset.
