Taking a deep breath Beatrice kept her mind clear. She was sat in the middle of her office, on the floor with her legs crossed. She found meditation helped her focus on every day life when there was little to do but centre oneself and let your mind go blank. Not a single thought was in her mind, she had travelled the world, seen many things, done so much and loved a man that could never be hers yet all of that was not even a mere blip in her brain as she meditated in her safe space.
Meditation was something Beatrice recommended to all her staff and students when they were stressed. It was a luxury in a time and world of material possessions. There was so much that could cloud the mind that it could all become overwhelming. Beatrice chose to hide it all away in a little box in her mind, lock it up and throw away the key on command. Her mind could hold many secrets and so it had to be a fortress against those that wished to learn what was in her little mind box. A pensive was something she had hidden away but she scarcely used it and she never allowed anyone else knowledge that she had such a thing in her possession. It was not a dangerous possession unless it were to fall in the wrong hands.
A knock came from her door but Bea did not fully notice. She knew within herself that there was a noise, that there was someone wishing to see her but she had to ease herself out of her mediative state gently. She slowly she opened her eyes, the candles of her office setting a gentle glow across the books and trinkets she had collected over the years and as the candles flickered so did the light but Bea paid little attention to it. She saw what was happening and she stored the information away with everything else in her mind. Only what she wanted to show would come to the surface of her mind.
Grabbing her wand and standing to her feet Bea looked at the door. Someone had knocked and was still waiting to enter. She slipped her wand away as she headed to her desk. She did not take the seat behind it nor did she stand behind it, keeping a barrier between herself and her guest, instead she leant against the corner of it. "You may enter." She said, her voice calm and soft. Meditiation did wonders for the soul and the mind.
