Overall Personality:
Lana is one of the few girls that doesn't mind getting her hands dirty. It's part of what makes her job so perfect for her. Throughout her life, she has been known to flirt too much, fall too hard and get hurt too often. Despite this, she has managed to come out on top and does everything she can to push beyond the past and her fears in order to better herself, because that's the only way she believes that she will ever go anywhere in life. One of the things that works in Lana's favor is that she is an excellent judge of character, which allows her to know whether or not someone is good to ber around, or completely awful. In that sense, her gut instincts are rarely wrong, if ever. The few times that she has been wrong have ended up in her having some of the best friends she could have ever asked for.

A downside to Lana is that, while she may be an excellent judge of character, she likes to see the best in everyone. This can cause her to look beyond what her gut instincts are. Often times, this causes her or her loved ones to get hurt. The result is generally Lana blaming herself for such things. Sure, she'll bounce back after a bit, but she definitely needs time to recover from whatever it was that brought her down in the first place. Lana isn't afraid to tell someone exactly what is on her mind and boundaries are something of an afterthought where she is concerned. It has resulted in a few enemies, but post people like her spirit.

Overall History:
Lana was born in St. Petersberg, Russia, as the second child to Casper and Anya Thorsen. When she was brought into the world, she already had an older brother, Anton. The first few years of Lana's life were spent learning everything she could about the world that she was likely to find herself in one day. When Anton got an acceptance letter from Durmstrang, Lana was horribly jealous, but hoped that she would one day be able to follow in her big brother's footsteps. As much as she often acted like she didn't like him, it had always been because she was jealous of him. When Anton would return from school, he would often tell her stories of what life was like there and the magical creatures that he had gotten to see. That was where her love for creatures initially started.

When Lana was eleven, she got her acceptance letter and hastily made off for Durmstrang. She found the first couple years a little difficult to adjust with, but as time went on, Lana managed to settle into the routine of things, and even managed to make a friend in Nikolai Amsel, who was a couple years above her. In her fourth year, Lana got her first boyfriend, a fifth year by the name of Mikhail. She fell for him hard and fast and, in the end, her heart was broken when she discovered him cheating on her. After that, she swore off relationships in order to focus on her studies. After she graduated, Lana moved to Karlstad, Sweden, where she was able to find a small community of witches and wizards that were the most experienced with various types of magical creatures.

Over the next few years, she studied hard and learned all that she could about them. In the process, Lana managed to get a few magical creatures of her own that would shape up to awe any and all people that saw them. A couple of years ago, she returned to Durmstrang and sought out the Care of Magical Creatures position and has been teaching there ever since. It is Lana's hope to get people as excited about the creatures as she is. A few months back, Lana left her position at Durmstrang to take up the offer of studying dragons back in Romania. However, she's recently come back, having missed her job too much. She still studies dragons in free time, though.
