Distance was something that Alina Carter was quite fond of. She was never really close to anyone, if you took her cousin out of the equation. There was no denying that Alina cared for her parents, she even loved them on occasion, but that didn't mean that she wanted to be within walking distance of them, or even within driving distance. Magic made things all easier, though. It would take just a moment for them to apparate or or take some other kind of transportation. Alina, however, trusted that they wouldn't do that. They had too much going on back home and that meant that there were family members all over, trying to find out about their American experiences and how things worked back there. It was the distance that had her moving around a little and finding her way to a place she'd spent tons of time as a student. Hawthorne Village was, to her understanding, the Salem equivalent of Hogsmeade Village over at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Alina had never been there herself, but she imagined that it was a lot like what she was familiar with. That actually made her want to visit it a little more.
A strand of hair fell into her face and she pushed it aside, setting it back behind her ear once again. Since coming back to America, Alina had found a place to stay. The Laughing Gnome Inn had become her home and, because she had a permanent room attached to her name, she got it at a bit of a discounted rate. It was helpful when the bills came around, but she also offered to help out now and then. Thus far, Sparrow Faust had declined any offers to help or accept extra money, but Alina was sure she would break her of it soon. At least, she would continue trying.
As she made her way through the village and back to the inn, there was a little skip in her step. It had been some time since she was in touch with parker jackson ludo, but today was going to be changing that. He had agreed to meet her and she felt like it was really about time. The owls they had exchanged had been nice, but few things could compare to seeing a friendly face in person. It was with those thoughts that she pushed the door open and offered a grin to the owner of the place. "You look like you're about to be having some fun," the redhead said with a grin. The comment caused Alina to laugh and she simply shook her head. "I'm about to be meeting up with a friend, so you just hush and do your job." It wasn't mean the way she said it; it was a teasing tone and she knew that Sparrow would pick up on it. Sparrow just laughed before ducking back behind the bar while Alina moved to claim a seat at a table, waiting for Parker to show up.
