Shea was curled up in her bed, reading her favorite book and tried to focus on the words on the page. There was just so much happening and she just needed to get away from it all. The tears filled up her eyes and she tried to figure out what she was going to do with her life. She had just gotten away from the Ministry. They gave her a heafy dose of that truth serum so they would be able to figure out if she knew anything about it. She didn't. Shea had been sick when she heard all of the horrible details about what Alex Yaxley did to muggle children. How he tortured them, how he killed them and then crawled into bed with her.
She kicked the blankets off her body and ran her fingers through her hair. She needed to get away from the world for a little bit. Even though she was in her pajamas, she needed some fresh air. To get away from the horrible people who saw her as a monster with him. Just as guilty as he was because she didn't see through his lies. She didn't see what he was doing when he claimed to be at quidditch practice or when he was supposed to be on prefect duties.
The blonde pulled on her robe and slid on her shoes, knowing that she would have to see her brother as soon as possible. Greg would be able to tell her everything that she needed to hear. Remind her that she was a good person and she wasn't a complete idiot. She would be the first Avery in their family line who wasn't married by the time she turned eighteen. It was a strange feeling, but also a freeing one. She knew that Alex was changing. Went from the sweet boy who gave her her first kiss, to the man who barely had time for her. Who never wanted to spend time with her. Now she knew why.
Shea slipped out of the castle, the snow crunching under her shoes and the falling snow whipping around her body as she tried to get to the bar in Hogsmeade to use their fireplace. She needed the fastest route to Greg, or her head was going to explode from the guilt and disgust in herself.
Once she was in the fireplace, she dropped the powder down and felt her whole body rush through the world until she landed in the small fireplace in Greg's dormitory. When she landed on her butt, the soot and tears stained her face. How could she have been such an idiot?
"Gig?" She called, not even sure if she was in the right dorm but hoped that she was. She needed her big brother so badly that she couldn't even stop the tears from rolling down her face.
