Things were going surprisingly well in Parker’s life at the moment. He wasn’t sure if that was good or not. He was falling more and more into something with Alina than he was comfortable with. One of his biggest rules was don’t get attached and he was completely disregarding that. He woke up that morning with her in his bed. That was a red flag.
Parker didn’t kick her out. He made her breakfast. He didn’t tell her that this was not going to work out. No they showered together. He walked her to the door, he kissed her on her way out. The door closed and he continued to ignore that problem. Parker was compartmentalizing, put it away in it’s own little box and then move on to what you had to do. First that test for a job at the gnome then he should check up on his sister.
Sister. That was still weird to say. According to the LaStrange family he was dead wrong for even thinking that Mameri was his sister. Parker knew though and it seemed that Mameri actually agreed. That was almost good enough. Almost. Parker hated that he was being denied the recognition as a son. He didn’t care about the name and the power that went along with it. He would actually prefer to keep the last name he was born with. Sure his mother was her own brand of crazy but it was easier to walk around as a Ludo than a LaStrange.
It didn’t take long to get everything together then he sent an owl to his sister before going off the the gnome. The test was simple enough, make sure he knew how to make drinks understand what to do if people got rowdy. All the basics of bar up keep. His travels after graduating from Salem helped him pick up this or that odd job. Bar tending seemed to be something good to learn, there was always a bar somewhere and feeding them drinks was a good way to get people to talk.
His hands were shoved in the pockets of his jeans now to see Memari. Parker had received a letter from their father, asking about ‘the mission’ obviously Parker had been doing his part. They had sent him to some annoying places recently. He talked to that one pregnant girl from Dermstrang, she seemed back on the side for death eaters, he was keeping an eye on Owlbrook. There were other places that he had been talked to some people told them where to go. Mostly the just wanted Parker to talk to Memari to make sure there would be an influx of Salem students once the school year ended. That was only a month or so away. Parker of course had his own agenda with generally wanting to get to know his sister. He might be called cold and heartless but that was far from the truth of the mater. He care, a a lot about people who managed to worm their way into his life and heart. Of anyone Memari was possibly the only person that Parker could truly talk to. Alina might have a choke hold on his heart right now but he wasn’t about to let that girl know everything. As stupid as he was acting around her he wasn’t as wrapped around her finger as he figured she thought he was.
Parker had asked the girl to meet him at a small park in Hawthorne village for coffee and to chat. The weather had been nice recently, unlike the rain that seemed to plague Salem a week before. He picked up coffee for the two of them on his way, as promised. It took only minutes to get to the park, an empty bench was there right at the entrance. There he sat setting one cup on the ground next to the foot of the bench the other he brought up to his lips for a sip.
