Maelynn wasn’t getting anywhere with this story and of course it was a big joke of a story back at her office in France. Nobody wanted to admit that now that the Dark Lord was defeated that the Death Eater would regroup and start anew. They would need a leader to guild them was their defense in the arugement. When the story came up at the broad meeting at the beginning of the week, everyone passed on it. They would rather report of gossip and non important stories around Paris. Not Maelynn, she wanted this story. It was a personal story to her, seeing as she was a Muggle Born witch.

Now she was in the United States; staying close to Salem for a few weeks to gather information, and will try to see if there was truly a story here. Every time she sat down with locals, everything started out fine. She would asked their name, how long have they lived here, then the tough question would come out. Whenever she asked what their opinion of Death Eaters were, she would always get ‘the look’ Some were surprised at the question, thrown back, or stern. It was a mixed bag. But when she asked them what they thoughts were if the cult would come back to finish the job…. they would all laugh at her. Most would just get up and leave and others would curse her for even saying that.

Again, she was getting nowhere. It was a tougher story than she thought. But, she refused to give up on it. She will just have to dig deeper. She spent the whole day in her room at the Laughing Gnome Inn going through her reports and interviews. Some of the characters that she had interviewed made her question them. For all she knows, they could have been Death Eater. The thought didn’t seem to faze her through, as if the thought had already acquired to her. If they were, and they went to warn the others of her story, they would either keep on their toes and make her job a lot harder or …they will try to kill her. It would give the world their answer that yes Death Eaters were back and they killed an innocent muggle reporter but…she would be dead.

The thought caused her to pause and she let out a long sigh, leaning back against her chair. She tapped her pen against the edge of her desk as she peered down at the papers scattered in front of her. She had to be smart about this.

“I need a drink” She said out loud, needing a break. She pushed away from her desk and got to her feet. She looked down at her dark blue jeans and dark green tank top and wondered if she should change. Normally she tried to look professional but…she was trying to think of this as a mini vacation. She shrugged her shoulder and went to slip on her black flip flops and ran her fingers through her hair. “Good Enough”

She made her way down to the bar section of the Inn and grabbed a booth in the corner. She didn’t want to be bothered at the bar. She needed to think and she couldn’t do that if a drunken person was chit chatting in her ear every few seconds, making her feel awkward. Once she got comfortable she looked over the menu sitting at the table.
