The resent months with Angel at his side had been like a dream. He was happy that he had the love of his life with him forever. Nik knew that she was still struggling through every night. Especially with this bar. They lived above it now. All of their life was this bar. Nik at first wasn’t sure. He wasn’t used to being grounded and it bothered him to be.
Still Nik was willing to stay, sleep in the same bed every night. Actually have a bed with Angel. She was happy with her bar and seeing business. He was there to make sure nothing bad happened. Kick out the people that got too rowdy.
At first it was hard to deal with bikers flooding in and looking at his girlfriend the way they did. Licking their lips as if they could conquer her. Angel could easily take care of her own but he would always protect her even with her new found blood lust and strength. She would always be his beautiful porcelain doll.
He woke up just as the sun dipped behind the horizon. Nik always went out on his own of a little while, as he left Angel rest more. She was still young and adjusting to everything. He also knew she liked to get the bar ready by herself. Nik was always in the way, maybe eventually he would understand, find another roll to play other than the watch dog. For now he was bumbling and dropped more glasses than he cared to admit. Sure his love just laughed and poked a little bit of fun after saying it was fine. He just felt like a fool.
Niklaus had to find someone to feed from. There was a rule, never at the bar. Angel was still explaining all the weird rules of her world. Or their world now. The magical people who watched over them were worried that they were just going to use the bar as some blood fam. Steal people one by one chain them in the basement and keep them there to slowly die as they feed from the poor souls.
So he went out on his bike in the morning to find someone who was roaming the streets alone. It didn’t take long to spot a man. After getting his fill Nik was back at the bar ready to start the night. Every night they had been open the bar was getting more busy. As afraid as he was about putting down roots it was worth the proud smile he got to see on Angel’s face.
Nik took a spot at the bar so he could keep a watch on everything. The music already playing. And there was a good handful of people who had trickled through the door.
