Overall Personality: Nellie is something of a complex creature, more so than what one would like to think. She acts like she has it all together, like she knows what she's doing in life and where she's going. The reality of it, however, is that Nellie can see something in people that they hardly see in themselves. Because she tends to be more of an observer, it allows her to gain perspective, though it also leaves her rather detached from everything and everyone else. Getting and maintaining relationships is hard, because she doesn't really do those romantic feelings, with the belief that they only make you weaker. That isn't to say that she's not capable of love, but because it scares her, she tends to keep everyone at a distance.

She's also never one to back down from any kind of a challenge and, when it comes to authority, she takes every initiative to be as defiant as she can possibly be. Nellie is a bit of an adrenaline junkie and she loves the thrill. From playing mind games with people to partying hard, there's really no limits to what she'll do in order to feel alive. In a very real sense, Nellie is like a master of puppets, at least when it doesn't concern her family. She can manipulate people to do the things that she wants them to, generally turning things in her favour. She's not afraid to push the boundaries and test every single limit that is put forth.[break][break]
However, she's mellowed out quite a lot since graduating, because now she has a purpose in life. She's more likely to be home and curled up with a good book as opposed to being out with a drink in her hands.

Nellie was born to Warren and Patricia Salvatore in the year 2008. She was not the first child to be born to the Salvatore parents and had two older siblings from the get go. Older sister, Cora, was seven; older brother, Vance, was two. From early on in her life, Nellie was loved by her family. As she got a little older, a bond was built with her brother that people didn't seem to really understand. That was fine though, seeing as they had an understanding of one another. Cora was the first one to get her acceptance letter, when Nellie was only four years old. Outside of the fact that Cora wouldn't really be around anymore, Nellie didn't know what was going on. While her sister was at school, Nellie grew closer to Vance. He spent time with her and explained where it was that Cora had gone and assured her that it wouldn't be forever.

When Vance got his acceptance letter, Nellie felt like something had shifted in their relationship. She wasn't seeing him as much as she used to. No matter how much he tried to tell her that it didn't change the fact that she was his little sister and that he loved her very much, Nellie wasn't so sure that she believed it. The next couple of years went by and Nellie finally got her acceptance letter. Her family was so proud and she couldn't have been more excited. Too eager to put anything off, she got her parents to take her to Diagon Alley to get her things, just before she would have to catch the train to Hogwarts. With her first year there, she found herself sorted into Slytherin house, where she would accompany her brother. When she'd asked where sister was, Vance said that she had been sorted into Ravenclaw instead.

It was just before her third year started that Nellie began to experiment with drugs, having following Vance's lead -- not that he had ever intended to get his little sister into such a thing. Nellie had experimented first with marijuana, but it quickly started to include other drugs - especially over the counter pharmaceuticals. During the summer between her third and fourth years, her sister, Cora, began her new job at the American branch of Ministry of Magic in the Department For the Regulation And Control of Magical Creatures. It meant that Nellie and Vance would be seeing even less and less of their oldest sibling. Her fourth year went by without much of a hitch, until it was nearly over. After a holiday trip home, Nellie returned to Hogwarts with prescription pain killers that she had stolen from her father. As she hadn't anticipated their strength, she took a few too many and ended up overdosing. Vance was the one to find her, out by the Shrieking Shack.

She spent the next couple weeks recovering and she was looking forward to being done with school for the year. However, she didn't expect that her parents would start fighting because of it. Things were harder after that and, once more, Nellie turned to the drugs. She stopped talking around her parents and started going to parties late at night and not returning until the next morning. Vance was worried at first, but the two of them quickly got a pattern going and they stuck together, while their home life seemed to fall apart. When she returned home after her fifth year, Nellie found that her parents were getting divorced. One night, she lashed out at her father, blaming him for everything that had gone on. Nellie had chosen the wrong night, however, and her father was beyond drunk. He didn't hesitate in retaliating, taking that moment to beat on her. She didn't have her wand, which made her completely vulnerable. In fact, if Vance hadn't shown up when he did, there was a very real possibility that Nellie would have ended up in a coma, or worse. As it was, she sustained several injuries, and even more bruises. No one knew about what happened to her that summer outside of her family. Things were looking quite bleak for Nellie and then Daemon came back into her life in a way that she hadn't anticipated.

During one of her father's drunken rages, he nearly killed her. Nellie was found by Daemon though and he packed her things and took her out of that environment (though not before almost killing her father). After that, Daemon and Nellie grew closer and soon, he was and Evette were breaking up and Howl had abandoned Nellie. The two found solace in one another and Nellie stepped up to be the mother that no one else wanted to be for Daemon's daughter, Savannah. Last year, Daemon proposed to Nellie and she said yes. She also officially signed over the papers that would mark her as Savannah's legal, adoptive mother.
