Overall Personality: Emmi is the type of person that prefers to watch drama unfold rather than be a part of it and doesn't like to intrude into other peoples business if she's not wanted. She likes to chill out with friends and meet new people. She can come off as a little shy at first as she takes a while to decide if she likes them or not, but once she gets to know someone a little better she lets them see her fun, goofy side. She enjoys company, but doesn't like to be the centre of attention.

She doesn't pre-judge people she has never met based on rumours. She almost always lets them prove their true selves to her and judges them based on that. However, if someone hurts one of her friends then she takes that as a personal attack and will try and avoid that person where it is possible.

Emmi can be quite stubborn when she is not in good humour, she will defend her beliefs and will not back down on certain subjects even if she knows that she may be wrong. She is a naturally intelligent person. She enjoys reading, and learning things, however, she does not like to be told what to learn and for this reason she does not always get the grades that she is capable of getting.

When Emmi is upset she prefers to be left alone and will often seek an isolated place and keep herself there, even skipping classes to have solitude. She doesn't get upset very often but when she does it is best to leave her to mull in her feelings.

Overall History: Emmi was born on the twentieth of May sixteen years ago to Nathaniel and Jessica Barnes. Her father was a half-blood and her mother was muggle born. Her mother had struggled for years to get pregnant and had just given up hope when she found that she was pregnant with Emmi. Because she was seen as a miracle child to her parents they tended to shelter her when she was young, spoiling her with everything she wanted.

Just after Emmi's tenth birthday her mother was killed in a car accident. This was the first time Emmi had been exposed to the bad in the world and she did not take it well. The once always happy, always smiling child was replaced with a sullen, and depressed young girl. For a year or two after her mothers death Emmi turned into a walking shadow of herself. Her father didn't know how to help her, as he was wrapped up in his own grief and so when Emmi was twelve her father moved them in with Emmi's grandmother, Olivia Barnes, in the hope that she could help bring the old Emmi back.

Eventually Emmi found peace with herself and the world and came out of her depression, with thanks to her grandmother. She now turns to her gran whenever she has a problem and needs advice. She has moved on from her childhood, and while she has accepted her mother's death she prefers avoiding the subject where possible.
