Overall Personality: Raised in a world of politics and philosophy, Gaspard is bright and quick-witted. Overall History: Marina and Augustine met while studying international law at Harvard University and quickly fell into step. They had similar ideals, similar philosophies on the way the world worked and similar visions for the way it should work. Upon returning to France, Augustine quickly began working for the government while Marina took up shop with some human rights lobbyists. Soon after, they were married.

The serious second son of the Chavalier family. He has always been the complete opposite of his spoiled elder brother from the moment they were born. He was always the serious, studious and had a real passion for law and government that his brother instead had a passion for teasing him and his younger siblings. He thus became the buffer, the bait for his sisters and took the brunt of the abuse from the pig-headed brute he called a sibling and focused on his studies.

Law was in his blood, his tutors were always pleased with his progress, always accepting the challenge and mastering as many subjects as he could. Politics, however, was not for him. Gaspard was too honest for the back room debates and the complete disregard of the humans the law was effecting and dropped out of Harvard law. After wandering for a while, he ended up taking the vacant job as Salem's librarian and has been quite happy there for three years.

Life would have continued on in such a way, throwing books at unruly students and mending the volumes after, until he was given a summer charge. He was to watch over Arianna Redwood and a secret relationship began between them. The two kept it quite under wraps until he found out she was pregnant and the two went public in a remarkable fashion, giving her new father, the Headmaster, a heart attack. Gaspard left his post as librarian and is now studying to take the bar in Massachusetts. Being a lawyer had never occurred to the man but it seemed the right thing to do. The couple no longer has to hide their relationship and he will be able to provide the sort of life his love deserved.
