McKenna is a damaged young woman. From years of neglect, she has closed herself off to the rest of the world. She has a hard time meeting new people because she tends to remain silent and closed off. Most people mistake her uncomfort for being stuck up. Then when she does try to talk, everything just gets awkward. She gets off topic and when she gets nervous…she finds comfort in random facts. Like, did you know that the amount of force used to bite into a carrot is the same amount of force to bite your pinkie off. But her sister, Billie is trying to help her get out of her shell and so far…it hasn’t really worked. She can be little stubborn when it come to her comfort bubble.
But she is a smart girl with a good head on her shoulder. At a young age she learned out to fend for herself. She doesn’t like to accept help from others and they literally have to twist her arm to get her to give in. It took Billie a week to get MK to move in with her and her family so she didn’t have to stay at Hogwarts through the summer. But she is secretly grateful to her sister. She got lonely when she had to stay at the school.

McKenna doesn’t know much about her life really. She doesn’t know where she was born or who her real mother was, or if she is still alive today. She has been an orphan for as long as she could remember.
Apparently when she was a few days old she was sent to a large orphanage in London, England, because she was dumped off at a fire station. Yup, just like in the movies, but the nice people that worked there raised her from a baby to a child.
Her life in the orphanage wasn’t so bad. She had lots of friends and other kids to play with all day long but she was missing something. She wanted to have a family. A real family. A mother and father who loved her and maybe even a sibling or two.
When McKenna turned six years old she had her first foster parents. She remember that day well and how excited she was to finally have a family to love her. But soon her excitement rubbed off when she went to her new home. The parents were grumpy and mean to each other and treated MK like a slave instead of a loving child. They forced her to clean around the house from top to bottom, tend to the animals [who they treated better than her] and made her sleep on the couch. She wasn’t good enough for a room.
She lived that way for three long years until one day one of her guardians from the orphanage popped in for a visit while her foster parents were out. She let the woman in and when she asked MK how she was doing with her new family, she told her everything. And before she knew it, she was back at the orphanage. But she preferred this place over her foster parent’s.
A year later she started to notice odd things happening around her. Things floating around her whenever she was upset. She accidentally gave a boy boils all over his face because he pushed her to the ground on purpose. No one understood why these things were happening until someone from the ministry came to pay a visit on her 11th birthday. He pulled MK and her guardian aside and explained that she was different than the other children. She came from a magical family. At first her guardian thought he has lost his marbles but when she thought more about the happenings the past year, she could see that he was right. He spoke of a school of magic where MK could learn her abilities. Since she had no family, the ministry took responsibility for her.
Shortly after gathering all her things for her first year at this new school, the ministry took her in and told her of her father. His name was Fenir Greyback and he wasn’t a pleasant man. He was a crazy werewolf who, “wanted to build a army of wolves.” And that when she gets to this school, she will have siblings around her age. At that moment she was both mortified and trilled. Her real father was stark raving mad but she had a real family waiting for her. She couldn’t wait to meet them.
