Overall Personality: Godric is an intelligent man, with an excellent memory when it comes to his work; he remembers the details of every wand just like his grandfather. He seems to become happier the more difficult the challenge to find exactly the right wand for a difficult customer is. Godric has a professorial enthusiasm for wandlore and is immensely learned in it. A less savoury aspect of his personality is that his fascination with wandlore sometimes eclipses his sense of right and wrong; he is so fascinated with what a powerful wizard can do when matched with the right wand that he becomes detached from the good or evil nature of their actions. This is an example, also linked to his grandfather, that Godric is extremely fascinated with what a wand can do, and sometimes disregards the fact that the action might be wrong.
Godric was noted for being extremely intelligent and hard-working, coming out on top in most of his classes and continuously helping other students (namely his brothers) with their school work. He was given a Time-Turner in his fourth year to facilitate his taking many more courses than most students. He was so adept at school work at that he often had time to do hobby work on the side, such as preparing for other classes or practicing Quidditch. Unlike most wizards who depended solely on their magical ability, Godric readily relied on logic, although due to his wandlore and family heritage, he has a very broad mind.
Godric often acts as the voice of reason among his more impulsive friends, to varying levels of success, and was reluctant to break rules unless it was necessary in pursuit of something more important. Godric is not afraid to stand up to his friends when he thinks it is in their best interests, or when he feels they are wrong; his sometimes abrasive confidence masked his insecurities and great fear of failure, as personified by his Boggart.

Overall History: There's much to say about Godric Geraint Ollivander. It might start with the simple surname of the male, seeing as he is the grandson to Garrick Ollivander, a prized Wand-Maker of the nineteenth century, and a part (though not large) of the two wizarding wars. Garrick Ollivander is still very much alive today as magical folk have a longer lifespan than muggles, although Ollivander is a bit frail still from the last war. He and his wife had a son nearly twenty years before the First Wizarding War began, making it the early nineteen-sixties when Godric's father was born, Gregory. However, Gregory did not marry his pureblood Ravenclaw wife until he was in his mid forties, just after the second wizarding war. They fought bravely alongside many other people, however, due to the damage from the war, Gertrude did not have the right health when having a baby. Her two twin boys caused her death during childbirth. This caused Gregory to suffer great depression, eventually committing suicide when the two boys were just about to turn one.
Their lives truly began when they were taken to their Grandfather, who was eighty-one years old when he was told of the two boys who would now be in his care. He and his wife raised them as if they were their own, though it was quite difficult as they were quite old. Though the magical blood kept them quite alive, his wife was quite frivolous and pampered the kids, Garrick was a little more frail. Though he told the boys stories others would be jealous of, dreamed of, things so unheard they were astonished. His role in the wars made the boys stay up at night and read history books. His talent for making wands ran in the family blood, and the twins received that talent, that involuntary gift in the ability to create wonders for the magical community. In England, that is.
Now, moving to one twin. This is about Godric. His name is the only thing he has from his real parents. He never understood why the Ollivander family had to have names that started with the letter 'G'. Of course, he just went along with it. His name didn't bother him, and he was quite proud to be named after the Hogwarts house he was not sorted into. Yeah, obviously his father did not consult a seer when naming his children. Godric was placed into Ravenclaw house, while his brother Griffin was sorted into Gryffindor. A bit ironic, yes? He didn't think so, though a lot of people did. You see, Godric created what was known as a "hat stall", where the Sorting Hat is conflicted between the houses, which in his case were between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw, and with a bit of guidance from Godric's mind, chose the latter of the two choices.
It turned out that Godric knew what he was talking, or rather thinking, about. He knew that he was logical, broad minded, but also brave and courageous. But maybe not as much as his twin, who, a minute after he sat down at his assigned table, was sorted into Gryffindor.
Throughout his seven years there, the two brothers, despite the House difference, spent nearly all their free time together exploring the castle. For Godric, it was for knowledge, and for the other, adventure. The school always seemed to have a inseparable duo, siblings or not, and for those seven years, it was them. They could finish each other's sentences. They made the same friends, and were always seen together. The two were joined by two other boys, another set of twins called Dean and Ennis Greyback. Werewolves, and they all got along well. The Ollivander twins were Animagi, and the Greyback twins were wolves, so together, they kept company.
After graduating, it seemed as though the two brothers were going to go in different directions. Godric went to work for the Ministry of Magic as the Head of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Taking a year off to meet with his brother in Greece, both considered their jobs and quit before applying at Hogwarts to be closer to each other and their grandparents. After all, family did come first.
