Overall Personality:
Sio likes to consider herself to be one of the guys, for the most part. For the better part of her life, she has hung around with the guys more than the girls, which may be part of why this Irish Lass can hold her liquor so well. This is not to call her an alcoholic, but the girl definitely does like her alcohol, and is especially partial to all sorts of whiskey, be it Firewhiskey, Jameson Irish Whiskey, or Jack Daniel's. When she's drunk, she tends to just be a more amplified version of herself. She's intelligent, though class was never her priority in school, and a musician, loving her violin almost as much as alcohol, magic, and The Hog's Head.
She's not really one to settle down. Being one of the boys, and willing to at least try and drink them all under the table. She's brash, and up front about her opinions, and stronger than she looks, physically. She's not afraid to get right up in your face, and tell you what she thinks of you, and on top of that, she'll kick your ass if you take offense enough.
Despite her good old Irish temper, she is good at heart, and likes to have fun. She loves her job, and the people who come in, though some of the regulars are a little rough around the edges. She likes it that way. If there's anything she's learned from life, it's that Good Food, Good Friends, and Good Alcohol are the keys to living well, and she's got plenty of them all.

Overall History:
Siobahn Aisling Ward was born twenty-one years ago in Dublin to a Muggle father, and a witch mother, though her mother had sworn off Magic. Why? Because she was, quite possibly, the worst witch of her age, but this isn't a history of her parents. This is her story.
An only child, Sio didn't really want for much. She felt perfect, snuggled up next to her Da while he watched boxing, and by the time she was eight, it wasn't anything strange for her to jump up in her seat beside him in the arm chair, and start yelling at the tele louder than he even was. When she showed her first spark of magic - a bit of ire when one of her favorite boxers was losing, her mother couldn't have been more pleased. She had always hoped her children would be magical, and with Sio being her only, well, there wasn't much hope for anything of the sort, if she wasn't.
But she was magical both in general, and with the violin her grandpa put in her hands, when she was five. To say the girl was gifted would have been an understatement, though she did work hard at it, until the day she went to Hogwarts.
After that fated September first, Sio spent significantly less time with her violin, but only on the necessity that it was at home, and not with her at school, as her mother was concerned that having something else to occupy her time would take away from her studies, and cause Sio the same pain it had her. This would have been far from the case, as while Sio was not the smartest witch of her age, she was very capable, particularly in combat and healing spells, as well as potions and herbology. Her mother became convinced that her daughter would become a healer, but that was not to be the case, because Sio's first love in life, had been her violin, and then, one fated weekend in her third year, she found her second love - The Hog's Head Inn.
Walking into the seedy old Inn, Siobahn and her friends were hushed. For her friends, it was more out of a slight fear and awe, as they glanced around at the patrons - professors catching up with old friends from beyond the castle walls, wizened old crones, and the seedy old gamblers in the corners, a hub of both magic, and corruption if there ever was one, in such a small, and pleasant little village. It was evident that in comparison with The Three Broomsticks, just down the way, that this was the greater of two evils. The drinks were stiffer, and the patrons hardier. While her friends stared around in utter fear, Sio felt something rise within her, a soaring feeling quite similar to the way she felt when she drew her bow across the strings of her violin - a feeling of being at peace, and of being home, despite looking completely out of place with her wild pigtails as she approached the dingy bar, and pulled herself onto a stool, leaning over so she could see behind the counter.
The barman attempted to shoo her off, and she just smiled broadly, head tilting as she asked, "Hey, Mister, where's the Firewhiskey?"
It would spiral on from there. Every Hogsmead trip, Sio was found in the Hogs Head for the majority of their stay. At first, she seemed to be an annoyance for the Innkeeper, but after a while, she began to grow on him. Upon graduation, everyone thought Sio would seek a job there, as a barmaid, or something of the like, but instead, she picked up her beloved violin, and didn't look back for a good three years.
Bars, pubs, and inns, Siobahn and her little roving troupe played them all. Sometimes she was alone, and sometimes, she traveled with others, but always, she and her violin stole the stage. There was something about her - something that brought the music to life, and maybe it was her magic, but it was something she would never tell. She made a point of stopping in to The Hogs Head as often as possible, sometimes just for a drink and some stories, and sometimes to play. It was always nice to come in, and see the light in the barman's eyes as he greeted her as if she were there every day, or as if she were his own daughter, and even nicer, was the way the old Inn felt like home.
She was sitting at the bar, nursing a chilled tumbler of Jameson, when the barman walked up, "Sio?" She looked up with a grin, at the old man who had become like family to her, and he took her hand, pressing his rather large keyring into it. "I would like to ask a favor of you, my dear."
Years before, Aberforth Dumbledore retired as the proprietor of The Hogs Head Inn, to tend to his goats, and leave a life of leisure after his efforts in the last great Wizarding War. He passed his keys off to a man he though would take care of his business, and the man did, for many years, before he passed it off to a fiery young lass from Dublin.
Siobahn Aisling Ward, wraith of the Emerald Isles, took on the job with an eager heart, and does her best to keep the Inn to it's old standards. To this day, there's still gambling, black market dealings, and other such things, but there is also a renewed vitality to the seedy old joint - a life that is particularly evident when you can hear the stirrings of a violin on the breeze.
