Overall History: Nikolai was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. His parents were both hard working in the magical community, his father an assistant to the Mistress of Magic and his mother a librarian in Drumstrang. His parents always taught him to work hard and do what would be best for the wizarding world. When he graduated, he went to work for the Russian Ministry but found that working as an Auror was more paperwork than any real catching bad guys, so he went back to Durmstrang to teach Dark Arts. He always felt that the best way to defend against the Dark Arts is to know everything about it inside, outside, forward and backward. He hates that people assume he's just training Death Eaters, but he just wants to help his students.
