Today was the perfect day for an outing. It was warm and sunny and not raining and perfect. Artemis loved days like this, however, they were rare. It seemed to rain all the time in England. She wished that she and her family could just move somewhere else. Somewhere the sun shone all the time. Even if it was a cold sun, it was better than nothing. Artemis hated clouds, hated snow and, most of all, hated the rain. Perhaps it had something to do with her hatred of umbrellas. She was always afraid that she would do something stupid with it, like open it indoors. She didn't want bad luck, even if she could counter it. Spinning around seven times made you look silly. And if she accidentally spun around anticlockwise... Well then she was screwed. No. It would be better for it just to not rain. Ever.
Artemis wondered what Daemon would think of moving somewhere else. They had one more year of school left and it would be good if they started thinking about the future. What with magic, it wouldn't matter where they lived. They could live half way around the world and it would still be like they lived right next door. They could always apparate back and forth and be where ever in an instant. This was definitely something she would ask him about one day, maybe when it came closer to when they had to think about where they wanted to live once they were married.
Twisting her engagement ring around her finger, Artemis grinned. It had been exactly a year ago when she had met Daemon here and agreed to give him a chance. It had been one of the best decisions of her life. It took her almost six years to see it but Daemon Nott was an amazing man. She only wished she had seen it sooner, however, she could only be thankful she realized it when she did and didn't wait until it was too late. Now, she was going to be his wife and, if Fate wanted, they would have a happy life together with their child.
Artemis sat down on the blanket she had spread across the grass, knowing Daemon would see her when he arrived. It had been all too long since she had last seen him and so she had invited him to a picnic at the park with Savannah. She packed some sandwiches and other snacks for the day so they wouldn't have to leave should they get hungry.
