Overall Personality: Most people would not assume Jude was a teaching sort of person. He can be distant, condescending and occasionally a little snippy, but he knows and fully believes that lives quite literally depend on potions. From the simple things like growing back bones to the more complex of growing skin, it's all possible with a simple potion.

As well as being a lover of potions he's also a bit of an inventor. He's come up with a few of his own potions and spells though none are approved as of yet. His potions are being tested by ministry officials and his spells are just privet ones he has not shared with anyone.

Jude has somewhat expensive tastes. He doesn't just buy something because it looks good though, he prefers the more expensive things because usually they're made better and last longer. He likes to look good too, even though he only does it for himself he won't go out looking like a slob, even if he's jogging. He may come back covered in sweat, but he'll leave home looking immaculate and presentable to the world.

All though Jude was never really a family guy growing up, never really wanting to spend much time with his siblings, now that he has grown up he finds that Christmas is his favourite time of year, when his parents, siblings, their partners and children are all together.

Overall History: Both Jacob and Siobhán Rose wanted a large family. They came from large families with Irish heritage way back and loved the thought of a household full of children. Girls and boys alike ran on both sides of the family and yet time after time Jacob and Siobhán had boys until their fifth pregnancy.

Jude was born the eldest. His parents had a thing for names that could suit a boy or a girl and thus he and his following siblings had unisex first names and gender appropriate middle names. This never bothered Jude.

Growing up, Jude was never really close to any of his siblings. He was a full eight years old when Charlie came along and then when Avery made an appearance. Both Harper and Finn followed in due course but by that time he was at Hogwarts, away for most of the year.

When he did get a chance to spend time with his siblings, Jude found he'd rather be left alone. He was of course forced on occasions by his parents to child mind which meant actively getting involved with them. Despite Jude thinking he had better things to do, his siblings couldn't have been happier to spend time with him.

Jude found school challenging but fun. He excelled in some subjects and did far worse in others. His forte was potions, he had a natural talent for the craft but the likes of divination, astronomy and ancient runes perplexed him.

Friends were not easy for Jude to make. He preferred to be alone and was often considered a bit of an outcast when it came to the Hufflepuff house. No one ever bullied him or said a mean word about him but he was clearly the needle in the haystack. While most Hufflepuff's were social, friendly and quite inviting, Jude was standoffish and a bit of a loner, still he had a few people he spoke to but he found they rarely had anything of interest to say.

The years went on and Jude found sanctuary in the library most days at Hogwarts. He liked the peace and quiet, the smell of the books and often thought of becoming a librarian but he wanted to do more. As much as he had a love for books he wanted to teach, something his parents would have thought he was joking about if he'd had a sense of humour.

Jude knew he wanted to teach Potions. It was his best subject and he was willing to even have to put up with children. After all someone needed to teach them and he was the very best in his field according to the only opinion he valued - his own.

Jude studied and studied and passed the appropriate tests with flying colours. He became a potions maker for Saint Mungo's where he made all sorts of potions on demand and accumulated a cupboard full of the most used potions and ones that took a lot longer to brew.

He has been at Saint Mungo's ever since graduating Hogwarts. He bought a flat in London and kept an eye open for a teaching position at any school. He was willing to learn a foreign language if he had to but it did not come to that, instead he heard of Aridorn, a school that was opening up for students after they'd finished at Beauxbatons, Durmstrang, Hogwarts or Salem. He was very much interested and applied for the position of Potions Master.
