Dominique bundled up Renee and felt like she finally understood all of those summers when her mother would wrap her up into hundreds of layers of clothes to keep too much sun from coming even close to her face. Now she was doing the exact same thing for Renee. She would do anything to protect the little blonde werewolf girl from the world, and the least she could do was protect her from the bright sunshine coating England.
She pulled on her own jacket and left a note for Seb that they would be back after a quick trip to muggle London for art supplies. Seb went back to the Falmouth Falcons and she knew that it was exceptionally hard for Seb to be back with the team, let alone when he would come home to an empty house. Eventually she would have to go back to the tattoo shop, even if it meant bringing Renee with her while she tattooed. Even though they could live off Seb’s income with the Falcons comfortably, she loved the art and the culture of tattooing and wouldn’t give it up for anything in the world.
“Are you ready to go?” She asked the smiling little girl and picked up her carrier carefully, apparating both of them to the small wizarding community.
Holding the carrier close to herself to protect the little girl, she made the landing as smooth as possible. She set her carrier down and quickly scanned over her, to make sure that the apparating didn’t do anything to her little girl. She hated apparating with her, but it was the fastest way to get to the art shop and back. She refused to floo with her daughter, to keep her from inhaling any of the dust or powder that usually sent her into a coughing fit for at least twenty minutes. The art shop was owned by a lovely couple, Olivia and Aurora, who Niqui got close with. They were both witches, so they made sure their backroom was a hotspot for apparting.
“How about a smile for Mommy?” She asked, tickling the sides of her daughter as she giggled so perfectly.
Niqui always thought that after what she did, things were just supposed to be horrible. She was supposed to end up alone, or lose another child. She just had Renee and Sebastien, so her life was perfection. She picked up the carrier and walked into the main shop of the art shop that she loved so much about and smiled at the witch behind the counter. She would be able to look around, but it would be a nice thing to just keep in mind that there was someone there to help her out.
