Like his appearance Nik is a hard person to get into. he is a quite man who doesn’t tend to smile. He never saw life as something that was to be lived easily, and now life is just harder. His words are short, to the point and he doesn’t sugar coat anything. His militant father made sure that his son was brought up as “a man”. Niklaus was held to high expectations and not given much slack when he was younger. To rebel meant he would just have to face harsh consequences. So a child hood of strict curfew, little play made Niklaus a very rough, brooding person. Though when teen years came he rebelled with the only cause being to piss off his father. That turned into a life of getting in with the wrong people, and traveling according to his own set of rules that suited his already sour attitude.
trust is a hard thing for Nik to find. He tends to see the worst in people before anything else. This is another reason he is short with people. Never let them into your head, don’t give them anything to work with and they can’t hurt you. Nice people are the ones he watches very closely. He is convinced that if someone is being nice they want something from you and Nikki won’t give unless he sees fit.
if someone happens to get through the whole tough guy thing then they will find that Nik is actually painfully loyal to people he calls friends, though he never had more than a hand full of those. It was a long hard, battle to get into Niklaus’ inner circle. Obviously if there was ever any wavering in trust there would be hell to pay.
To betray Nik meant that a person was cast out from his life, fully and completely, though not before he let them know what a bad decision it was to even think about betrayal.
