Trigger Warning; Murder
Marceline was tired of living in the shadow of her husband. Once upon a time, she had fallen in love with Rabastan. He was the type of man that she saw herself living with him forever; she saw them ruling the world. That was all well enough, until the moment she found out that he was having affairs on the side. It was one thing if she would have been involved in them, but she wasn’t. Marcy was overcome with fury as her body trembled. It was hard to get herself under control so that she didn’t just launch out at her husband. She had tried for years to get him to admit to what he had done. Still, she could see it in those children that came around. She saw it in the way that he would look at Maevelyn, the way he would let his fingers brush over her hand or her shoulder when he passed by. They were things that he used to do with her.
Rabastan never did admit to what he had done, but that was fine. Marceline was fine with continuing to pretend that they were the happy couple. It wasn’t as hard as she thought it would be. For years this had continued, but tonight all of that would end. She wasn’t going to put up with it any longer. She and Maevelyn were not the only women in her husband’s life. However, she wasn’t going to let the other woman know about what was going on. There was no reason to get her involved. The last thing that she wanted was to bring that whore into another aspect of her life. It was bad enough that she had stolen her husband’s affections, but she would not let the red head be part of the reason that same husband got his just desserts.
Manipulation and deception were two things that Marceline had excelled at for as long as she could remember. It was something that Rabastan had once loved about her more than he could have possibly loved anything. It was something that made them bond and realize that just maybe they were meant to be together. It certainly helped that Hazeline approved of the man and found herself taken with his brother. The four of them had made plans to make something of this world. They would show everyone how things were supposed to be and that was what originally had them deciding to start up a school in Alaska for the Death Eaters. They would bring order back to the world and everyone would know their names.
Marcy never thought that things wouldn’t go to plan.
Upon entering the bedroom she shared with her husband, she looked at his sleeping form. He looked so peaceful, so absolutely perfect. Marcy moved rather gracefully through the room, over to his side of the bed. She reached out, allowing her fingertips to ghost over his cheek. A smile pulled at her lips when he seemed to lean into the touch, almost as though he was craving more. Her hand moved slightly, resting over his mouth. Without another moment of hesitation, her fingers squeezed his nose shut, while ensuring she kept a firm grip over his lips. His breathing began to get frantic and his eyes flew open. Rabastan was grabbing at her hands, attempting to pry them away. His age made him weak, though, and Marceline was much more powerful than he was. He began to thrash and he moved to grab his wand, but Marcy had already moved it out of his reach. She wasn’t going to risk being killed. Her lips pursed and she shoved down harder, watching his attempts become feebler with every passing second.
She didn’t know how long she stood like that, positioned over him and holding her husband down. It wasn’t until she was positive that he was deceased that she lifted her hand. His beautiful green eyes were staring up at her, empty of all emotion. ”Rest now, my love.” She lifted her hand and closed his eyes. That which she had set out to do was complete. It left only one thing left to do, now. Turning around, Marcy made her way back around the bed before crawling onto her side of the mattress. Leaning over, she kissed Rabastan’s cheek. ”Goodnight, sweetheart.” Shifting around, she turned on her side, facing away from her husband, and settled down beneath the covers. Her eyes drifted shut and she allowed sleep to overtake, getting the first full night of rest that she’d gotten in some time.
