Dekker is what people would expect from a tattoo artis. He is very ruff around the edges, the boy who rebelled against his upbringing and really never stopped partying. Sure Dekker has calmed down sense his young teen years but there is still that touch of rock and roll.
Dekker wears his confidence like a crutch. So he comes off as a bully, when really he is. He likes to test those romantics in life. For him life is dark, it’s hard and there is no place for your head in the clouds. So why not just poke at the optimism that he could never actually get a hold onto? His smirk holds his frustration and he pushes people to overcompensate for his harsh realism way of thinking.
No Dekker does have his soft side, it’s just no shown so easily. Ever sense he moved away from that little town he lived in with his family it has been a far reach to see Dekker really be charming. He does have a watchful heart, like as much as he might pick on someone he wouldn’t actually let them get hurt. He has a soft spot for any kind hearted cutesy sort of girl. Those are really the ones that make him week at the knees.
Love is an idea that he doesn’t let himself get too into. There was a girl once, that he let himself linger on. He still thinks about her every day. There is no chance there. She is the reason he left America. Everywhere reminds him of her and what he did.
The thing thought that has him more than anything is his tattooing. His art is what saved him. Dekker was brought up in the old school when the only people getting tattooed were criminals and bikers. That was the only chance for a kid who had been discharged from the army.
