How to navigate our waters!
How to navigate our waters!
Well, now that you've found us something seemed to have caught your eye! Joining a new forum can be a difficult experience, everyone has different layouts and we want to make sure that you can find your way around here as easily as possible. This guidebook should give you an idea of how to get started here, but you can also always contact admin belle or admin sammi with any and all questions!001. Our Rules and Content!
So you've made an account, wonderful! We love you already and are so excited to have you here! Now that you're one of us, we're going to ask that you read through our SITE RULES. There will be a special message inside of the rules that will come in handy when you start working on your application. Once you get through all of that, you would probably want to look through our VARIOUS AREA PLOT LINES. We are a world wide site with plot lines in each area. What makes us so special and different than most other sites is that participation in the plot is not required. If you want to play a critical character, wonderful! If you would like to play a muggle with no knowledge of the magical world, that's wonderful too! Another area that you want to be sure to look over would be our SITE WIDE HISTORY and the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS. It's a lot of information, but we are also a beautifully large and expansive site. Even with our size, we always make sure that every member feels welcomed and included. That brings us to...002. Breaking The Ice!
We love new members in our chatbox! You can usually always find someone online who can point you in the proper direction. If you have any questions about plot lines, about schools or stats, you can ask anyone there. Another wonderful way to introduce yourself to our community is by posting something in our INTRODUCTION BOARD! Tell us about yourself, your likes, dislikes, hopes, pet peeves, anything that crosses your mind! We love getting to know our members and it makes things like plotting that much more fun and interesting! If it ever comes that life gets in way of RPing, we ask that you pop over to our OFFICIAL ABSENCE THREAD! This will keep us from accidentally deleting a character when there is no intention of leaving us. When you return, just alert an admin so we can shower you with welcome back love and remove your absence notice. After an introduction, it might be a good idea to start...003. The First Character!
You've looked at our plots, you've introduced yourself, now it's time to create that first brain baby! The first place you might want to check out would be our REQUESTED CHARACTER PAGE. It is no where near required to make a requested character, but we do offer house points for creating a requested character (house points awarded after seven in-character posts). If you prefer to just jump into the waters without attached plotlines, you might want to start with looking at JOB LISTS and FACE CLAIMS before making any final decisions. Once you have that wonderful first character buzzing in your head, you would want to jump into the APPLICATION BOARD to start on it. We offer both a structured application as well as a free-form application! Which ever you prefer is perfectly fine with the admins. Please make sure that no matter which application you use, they are posted in the proper area! An admin will look it over as swiftly as we can and either accept it, or give a list of things that we would like to see fixed. We do not have a limit on how many edits you might have to do, and will be willing to work with you to create the greatest character possible. Once the character is accepted and sorted you would want to...004. PLOT IT AND CLAIM IT UP!
Once you've been accepted, please fill out all of the CLAIMS, HOUSES, and our PLAYER DIRECTORY. This will help us make sure that all characters are as fleshed out as possible, have a place to call home, and know who-plays-who. Once that is out of the way, it would be a wonderful idea to start poking around at PLOT PAGES so you can work on some plot interactions between other characters in your area! We also encourage you to look at the RELATIONSHIP STATUS LIST to look over the romantic relationships around site. If you're interested in having a romantic relationship, this is a wonderful place to look at past and current relationships. Ready to dive in? Check out some of our OPEN THREADS to find someone waiting patiently for someone brilliant to join them!
Well there you have it. Follow these links and you'll be a regular fixture around here in no time!
