When he didn't reply to the first tapping at his window, she did it again. A couple moments passed and he still didn't answer so she knocked just a little harder. That seemed to do the trick because she could hear the sound of movement from within. Yeah, it was definitely a good thing that she had decided to come here instead of relying on him to meet her somewhere. As much as she loved Jennison to pieces, expecting him to be somewhere on time when he'd just worked a late night wasn't really the best idea. If she did that, there was a chance they wouldn't be friends because he'd probably be missing to all their get togethers. As it was, she didn't mind coming to tap on his window, especially since it meant she got to see the cute case of bedhead that he always seemed to end up with. The glitter was just a nice added touch. She knew he always tried to clean up before his sister saw him, which was occasionally the reason he'd crash at her place now and then. Sometimes, you were just too damn tired to worry about getting rid of all the glitter.

After what seemed like forever, the blinds lifted and she wiggled her fingers up at the barely dressed male. Thankfully, he opened the window rather quick and when he stepped back, she braced herself on the windowsil before hauling herself through. Once inside, Ashton straightened herself up and brushed her clothes off before flashing Jennison a grin. "Man, you're lucky I love you or I'd be all kinds of sad of your neglect." She laughed before returning his embrace. She walked by him as he made his way to the closet before claiming an open spot on his bed. Her arms moved behind her and braced against the bed as she looked around the room.

"It looks like you' tried cleaning up and then rage quit. I'm surprised that Lulu didn't come and clean this whole place while you slept." Her brows furrowed and she leaned down, pulling up a bra by the strap. A brow lifted and she glanced over towards Jennison. "Did you have a sleep over and she snuck off or are you just collecting the bras of strangers now?" With a laugh, she threw the item over towards Jennison.

Ashton knew that Jennison had a life of his own and she was hardly going to hold against him the things that he did. She knew about his nasty habits and she probably knew more about him than she should have. But he was one of her absolute best friends and she was going to be there for him, no matter what happened. That was part of why it didn't matter to her when she had to come and get him instead of him remembering to meet up at a designated place. In all actuality, she kind of prefered it this way because she could snoop around his room and see if there was anything new laying around.

Kind of like that bra she had just thrown at his head.

"Aw, we all know I would just hate to break your precious little heart," she teased, jutting her bottom lip out in teasing pout. In truth, Ashton would have done anything to make sure that his heart didn't get broken. She was insanely protective over him, perhaps even more so than other friends. It was one of the biggest reasons she had issues with his job. She always worried that someone was going to start following him and then they would date and they would use him and leave him. Of course, Ash also knew how silly it was to even think that. Jennison didn't make a habit of dating the clients and that was probably for the best. It didn't mean that she wouldn't worry, though.

"I can't say I blame her. You do have a lot of mess in here." Her eyes darted around the room and she thought about being proactive and just starting to clean up, but figured that could wait for another day. When he started talking again, she looked over at him with an amused expression. "You should tell her to get a bell for that thing." It wasn't the first time that he had ended with a bra back home and Ashton was positive that it wasn't going to be the last one. It was just one of the endless possibilities when you worked as a dancer.

"Well, I was thinking that we could head down to the tracks, maybe grab some food on the way so we don't starve out there. I've been working on a project and I want to see what you think." The tracks had been abandoned for a long time, seemingly cut off from the rest of the area. Even though it was abandoned, there were a weird amount of empty train cabins there as well.

Ashton had made a fair share of mistakes in her life. It probably seemed like she had it all together because she had moved from Florida to New York and was attending an Ivy League school, but there were a lot of times where she was anything other than put together. Nine times out of ten, she was scrambling around and trying to figure out what the hell she was doing with her life. It wasn't as though she decided at a young age that she would go to a great school and have some great opportunities. She drank and she smoked, occasionally some of the illegal stuff, but they were habits that she had kicked for the most part. She was a social drinker and given how busy school kept her, she didn't even get a chance to do that. So, it wouldn't have made sense if she ragged on Jennison for the choices he was making. All she could really do was be there and try to steer him in the right direction.

One of the last things she ever wanted to do was hurt Jay, so it while it sounded like she was teasing him, she was serious. Breaking his heart was something that she would be likely to break people's knees over and that wasn't a joke. Yeah, Ash was definitely protective over her friends, especially the ones that she was closest to.

An amused look crossed her face and she looked around his room again. "I'll believe it when I see it. You know if you need a hand, I can help out. It's not like I have anything better to do." Her fingers picked at his bed absently while her eyes roamed his room, looking for any other undergarments that she could tease him with. "If she needs any help, send her my way. I'm sure I can figure something out."

A grin touched her lips when Jennison's eyes lit up at the prospect of her taking him to see some of her art. She didn't show it to everyone, mostly because she was worried that people would be overly critical and rude about it. She could take a critique as well as the next person, but if you were rude about, well, that was a different story. He was one of the few people that she always felt comfortable sharing this private practice with. "I'm all for the window thing, but if you want to face your sister, I guess I could back you," she commented, making it sound like it was such a hassle to go back him up. "I just hope she'll have finally stopped questioning why I come through the window." Sometimes it was just more convenient than having to deal with all the questions.

One of the things a lot of people seemed to like about Ashton was how carefree she seemed. What they didn't seem to understand was that a lot of that was an act. She often found herself wondering if she was going to be able to pass her classes or if this was going to be the time they told her that her grades weren't good enough to stay in the school that had chosen her. She wasn't like the rich kids who had parents to pay their entire way there and she wasn't entirely a scholarship student either. The scholarship she had gotten only covered so much of the cost and that was why she had to resort to a lot of selling her art on the streets. People were willing to pay a crazy price for some of the things that she made, especially if it was a one of a kind, which majority of the items were. Every now and then there was something that she would attempt to duplicate, but even that was different in its own way.

A grin touched her lips at the idea of dancing around in their underwear together. "I could certainly think of a worse way to spend a few hours." Cleaning alone was one of them and being fully dressed was another. It wasn't that Ashton was against clothing, it was just more comfortable when she didn't have layer on top of layer. It was another story when the snow was coating the ground, but they had months until that happened again! Maybe they would get lucky this year and it wouldn't snow until November or maybe even December. The less snow that she had to deal with, the better. It was definitely one thing that she missed about Florida. Then again, she had all the hurricane warnings down there. It was kind of like she couldn't win no matter where she went. Still, until she finished school or transfered somewhere else, it wasn't something that she could really do anything about.

Jennison seemed to agree with her that the window would work and that was all she needed to hear before carefully making her way back out of it. It probably looked strange that two adults were sneaking out of a window, but sometimes you just had to do it. It couldn't have been that different than sneaking in through the window, right? Like if you forgot your keys! Yeah, there were a lot of ways that it was totally practical and understandable. It wasn't her fault if people didn't understand it. Ash waited for Jennison to close the window and offered him another grin. "Yeah, let's go." She turned and began walking. "So, how has work been going?"

Hearing Jennison say that it was a date had Ashton feeling a little more giddy than she let her expression show. There was no way to deny that she thought her best friend was hotter than hell. Of course, he had to be. Who had ever heard of an ugly stripper, dancer, person? She sure hadn't. It was no wonder that there were people that would ask for him by name. He was good looking and he was good at what he did. She didn't blame them. In all honesty, she'd probably go and ask him for a dance too. Well, maybe not. That could end up with them in a really awkward situation and now matter how much she was curious about it, it wasn't something that she wasn't about to push. "Yes, yes it is."

She had seen Jennison at some of his worst moments and was there to pick up all of the pieces. Some people had asked her about it, wondering how she could still be there after some of those times. It was never something that she had to think about though. Jennison was one of her best friends and the drugs that he had done didn't exactly change him. They just posed a serious danger to his health. That was the reason she was glad that he was avoiding them. It wasn't the first time that he had done that, but the last time he gave in far too easily. She was hoping that he would be able to be stronger this time around and she hoped that providing him with some kind of distraction would be good. It was just another reason for them to hang out.

"I bet all the ladies are asking for you by name. It has to be a nice chunk of change in your pocket at the end of the night." It was crazy how much some people would pay just for someone to grind up all over them and make them feel like they were the only person in the world. It was weird, but whatever. If they had money to spend on that kind of stuff, more power to them. Ashton, however, had more important things to spend her money on. Like books for school and paints and brushes and things like that. "New routine? I might have to stop by and pay you a visit," she said, flashing him a grin before nudging him with her elbow. A moment later, she gave a little shrug. "Here and there. Though I did get someone who wanted me to come do like official portraits or something? I'm going to check it out this weekend. I heard the guy lives in this huge house and is totally loaded. It could be my ticket into the big leagues."
