Overall Personality: In general Sydney is a reserved person. He doesn't tend to do much that is outrageous. Never was it exactly cautious thing. Sydney is just methodical. There had to be a reason for him to do something. A lot of people have called him a control freak, sometimes a party pooper. The thing is Sydney just liked to be good at what he is doing. At the same time he didn't exactly use his diligent personality to do what his parents would call "respectable work."

Sydney is also someone who fixated. It is great in the sense that he fallows through. The down side is even with little things Sky won't let go. Nit picky. That might be the best way to say it. Every little thing needs to be in it's place and rightly in that place. Sydney would argue that he does it because he cares. All of that is seen in spades when it comes to his career and his children (unfortunately his marriage suffered because of all that).

Sydney had always had issues expressing things. It was through his songs that he was able to speak. His lyrics are his crutch so to speak. This communication problem makes it come off like he has a temper. Where as Sky does, it's not as extreme as it might initially come off. He just get's easily frustrated. If things aren't going his way and then he feels like he has no voice he can snap. Though having kids had made him more patient, if only a little.

Having kids did make the softer side of Sydney come out. He loves the time he has with them because he honestly doesn't get much. His job keeps him from them, and their mother as well. Still he is fighting for them because his kids keep him grounded and make him see that life doesn't need to be so serious.

There is something romantic in him. He want's love. Unfortunately a lot of what he thinks is showing love is often misunderstood. Much like most emotions love is more easily described in his songs, the physical relationship for Sydney seems a lot more cold. He thinks that providing and stability (even if being a musician is a little hard to make that with) is the best way to make things work. He attracts people who want the glitz and part of his career (that he doesn't even partake in). That or woman will think he has this bleeding heart that his songs are so often built on.

Sydney is a serious man but he does still have fun. Now it is mostly running around the play ground with his kids. Before he would go to small parties. Large groups just make him nervous. A stage is where he is meant to be, looking out on a group of people who are singing back to him the words he wrote. On the stage is one of the few times to really see past all the serious business and get to the soul of Sydney, that is exactly why he does it.

Overall History: Sydney was the second child and victim to his mother's rather overbearing obsession with the letter 's'. He could never say that he had a normal childhood. His mother was someone who slowly feel deeper and deeper into mental troubles. Ever sense she lost her third child she lost it completely. Before that she just had a mild case of what he could figure was OCD, hens all the S's and how she had to count her steps and how sometimes it would take ten times for her to finally close the door right.

After she lost what was to be her only daughter she got worse and packed on more issues than just the OCD. Sydney would stay away from her finding that he often just upset the woman more than helped a thing. For a long time it was just him and his brother. They were competitive with each other but close. The boys father having to supplement income for his family sense his mother was not fit for work meant he was gone most of the time.

Shawn was obviously the first one to go to Hogwarts and was sorted into Gryffindor. There were two very long years that Sydney had to deal with being alone with just his father. It distanced him and his brother. It also made what was once a fairly easy going boy more serious, and too serious for his age. Finally his own acceptance letter came and he was off to the school, sorted into Ravenclaw.

Sydney tried to reconnect with his brother but Shawn was too busy being a mighty Lion and teenager to care about his little brother. The older they got the more the boys would drift apart and be even more competitive when they were around each other. Sydney trying to prove that he was mature enough to hang out with Shawn and Shawn trying to put his kid brother in his place. While all of this was happening he started to find himself in music more than anything. It was where Sydney learned to put down all his frustrations.

The years never got easier. Eventually his father passed from liver problems. Apparently he had been drinking more than either of the boys were aware, that was when Shawn was 20 and Sydney was 18. Their mother was placed in the care of people who could help her.

Not long after Sydney graduated did he move to America to try and make it somewhere with his music and to get away from the dark place that was his childhood home. He met a couple of guys and made up a band. They only did small gigs here and there, not making it very far.

One day in a small dimly lit New York club did he meet Wynona. She was a woman attracted to his dark nature and soulful lyrics. The next couple of years didn't do much for Sydney. He still never gave up on his music. He and Wynona got married and a child was on the way. When his little girl was just one finally Red Lights got spotted by an influential man. He was the owner of Warped Stereo Studios. It was great news for the band but not so great for his marriage.

He and Wynona tried to make it work out. They even had a second child, Pippin. Eventually she called it quits. They never quite got passed all the issues, but share time with the children. Of course Wynona does her best to tell Sydeny that he is not giving enough time to the kids. All of that he can deal with it was the fact that not a year after the divorce did she start hooking up with his brother Shawn. Who apparently was in America because he had been traded to the Fitchburg Finches.
