Likes: red lipstick, tobacco, whiskey, cats, flirtation, and travel.
Dislikes: sweet wine, small talk, hangovers, animal blood, and cars.
Strengths: physically strong, convincing, well spoken, blunt, and independent.
Weaknesses: lately paranoid, reckless, untrusting, untrustworthy, and awful at superficial conversation.
Overall Personality:
Lux is a curious mix of paranoia and recklessness. Back in the days when she was ruled by hedonism, she was the height of sensuality and easily influenced others. But re entering society after such a long time has left her feeling at odds with her environment. She uses her words like weapons when she feels threatened. She has no ability to make small talk. And Lux has never had a real relationship with the exception of the few months with Beatrice. She enjoys being an object of desire and attention but has bouts of self consciousness likely due to her time in the late 1890's when she was judged for her appearance and "lack of shame" as many high society women said. She is intelligent but unschooled. She reads very well and is extremely well spoken (she was not always like this, only following her time with the witch in Morocco). Lux writes poorly and spells even worse.

Birth Place: York, England.
Overall History:
Lux assumes she was born in York, England. She doesn't remember her family--just being fourteen, destitute, and looking for work. She took up with the P.T. Barnum's Freak Show In Manchester. She began by working with the animals and then progressed to becoming one of their most popular "tattooed ladies," recieving many tattoos at the hands of the group's resident tattoo artist. This was around 1880. However, as the circus began to lose popularity-- Barnum began to ask more and more of his performers. He requested that Lux get more body alterations--some more dangerous than others. She respectfully declined and was attacked by a vampire that evening. Later, Lux would find out it had been a set up: that Barnum wished to have a tattooed woman vampire amongst his "freaks" and had paid a man to turn her. However, as vampire loyalty tends to waver in some groups, Barnum was later murdered by that very man. Lux left the side show, weak, and refusing to feed on humans. She had been a gentle soul and even killing animals was difficult for her. However, her natural instincts kicked in. It took her almost a full year to be able to control her impulses an be around people. There was only one human kill, in the first week of turning. He had happened to be around in the midst of a hunger frenzy. Kneeling over his lifeless body, covered in his blood, still frenetic over the taste, Lux vowed never to kill a human being again. She lived in the wilderness of Leeds in the cabin of the man she had accidentally murdered. The guilt began to fade within months.
Having been on the road with the circus since the age of fourteen, Lux went on a tour of her favorite cities. Her tattoos, which had connected her to her circus family, led people on the outside to believe that she was untrustworthy and possibly dangerous. The only jobs that she was able to get were in unsavory places where she was displayed as a spectacle. London was the place where she vaguely fit in. This lifestyle of living in London and making frequent trips to the countryside to feed lasted only a partial year. This ended abruptly when she was stalked by a group of three men who attempted to rape her. It ended badly for them--and Lux's kill count was up to four. Her attitude began to change. It had been apparent before, but the dark underbelly of London was beginning to show itself. She could see how people leered at her--different from the way they had applauded and cheered during the freak shows. Out here she was a spectacle without context. She began killing without abandon, picking and choosing her victim-- it was a game to her. She no longer contained herself to London, she began traveling country wide again leaving a trail of unsolved murders for local police. England was beginning to feel small to her--she moved on to Italy where she fell in love with a beautiful Italian heiress named Beatrice. She ceased human killings, trying to become a better person out of love. Month three, into their secret relationship, Lux confessed to being a vampire. Beatrice panicked. Being in an illicit relationship with a mysterious, tattooed, and beautiful woman was one thing. But a supernatural being--she assumed that Lux was crazy and told her such. Lux, on a bender fueled by human blood and whiskey, set out to prove the woman wrong--and ended up killing Beatrice in the process. She re assumed her blood tour, swearing to herself not to trust humans.
But she was lonely. So lonely. She longed for a companion-- someone who wasn't human and someone who wasn't connected to her past. Lux found herself working as a bartender in the Ukraine. She worked in a dive bar, serving patrons shitty liquor and cheap beer on tap. Sometimes she'd take guys or girls home that she found attractive--play with them then feed. That was until she encountered Niklaus Luka Alvang. He would come in now and then, with tales of freedom and travel. And he never looked at her peculiarly, nor did many people in the area. Maybe times were changing or Ukraine was more forgiving of outliers, but she began to feel at home here. Lux desired Nik, and considered taking him home almost every time he entered the bar. It wasn't his physical appearance entirely but his spirit and recklessness. He embodied the life she craved, without the loneliness and blood lust. She was jealous, enamoured, and attracted.
One night, she returned to her makeshift apartment--an old clothing boutique that she had turned into a home. She had brought a toy home-- a nineteen year old girl named Alicia with the prettiest red hair. She was just about to make her kill when she heard the sound of something in the basement. Not wishing to be caught mid-murder, Lux went downstairs to investigate. It was a young man. Drunk off whiskey and blood lust, she attacked him. Mid way, Lux came to the realization that it was Nik from the bar. With what she could piece together from her own transition, she did the only thing she could think of to keep him from dying--she turned him. Then promptly panicked. She kicked Alicia out of the apartment and went in search of a weaker victim, hoping to any god that he would survive. It took all morning, she was sure he was dying. The moment he began to stir, Luxe spoke, "Good... You survived." Then the guilt hit her. Perhaps it would have been better if he had died, since she had committed Nik to a life she didn't even want. She stayed the week as he gained strength, providing weak victims for him to feed on. Then, wracked with guilt and terrified he would reject her as a companion, Lux chose the cowardly route--she ran. She stayed away for a few days. Upon realizing that this was one of the few opportunities to be around one of her own kind, she returned. But the basement was cold, bare, and empty.
Lux began traveling again: half searching for Nik, half trying to forget him. She met an older witch-woman who was also on a journey of self discovery. She was not a vampire, but she was also not a human. This woman taught Luxe to read as they made a long pilgrimage to Morocco. She remained with the woman for twenty years living in the outlands of Tangier. The woman was seeking a place of peace--according to her the wizarding world had become to full of tension and was hard to live in. This woman was the closest to a mother figure as Lux had ever experienced. She learned history, read many books, and attempted to make peace with her vampirism. As she learned that she was not one of a few, but many. The fact that others had experienced similar journeys gave her hope. When the woman died, Lux returned to England. But the world was different. There were strange technologies, cultures, and customs. No longer was Lux the confident and sensual temptress--she was out of her element. She had been out of society for twenty years and within that time span--the world had changed more than it had during her first 140 years.
