Overall Personality: For the most part Lykke is a little too serious for his own good. When he was little there wasn't much friends. He grew up talking to a viking ghost and it did make him a serious person. He is trying to loosen up but it's not going quite as easy as he would like it.

Part of that is because he gets in his own head and when he isn't doing well at something Lykke get's frustrated. He tends to crack under pressure. Even though he has this tendency to want control he is someone who is into astronomy and what the stars mean. He could happily spend a whole night looking up at the sky mapping the stars and trying to figure out what they are trying to tell him.

Lykke can also get easily distracted so when he is trying to focus on something he often has to try and close himself off. Obviously because of Hulda there are very few times he get's a true moment alone. That has him a little high strung.

Stability is another thing he has trouble with. Hulda and his mother were the only two truly constant things his life so he can get antsy when it comes to being in one spot for too long or get's nervous when people are around long term. He is most nervous for graduation. It will be the second major change to his surroundings. Of course the first being when he started at the school. He doesn't want to loose the castle and the few friends that he has met.

Despite the fact that he was raised by a strong woman and had an equally strong woman by his side for almost ten years Lykke himself isn't the best for standing up for himself. He is soft spoken and often speaks too much when trying to explain himself. Fist fights scare the crap out of him because he doesn't think on his feet very well.

Overall History: Lykke was the only child to be born to his mother. She was never married and he never knew his father.For as long as Lykke could remember his mother was a strong independent woman who never seemed to need any man in her life. Lykke didn't ever remember her dating. It wasn't that strange to the boy, besides the two constantly traveled anyway. Sofie worked as an archaeologist, primarily uncovering ancient Scandinavian artifacts and tracking down relics. For a while it was an issue with her peers that she would bring a young child with her. She fought to have Lykke at her side when she was out on sites. There was no way she was going to spend so much time away from her son.

So through the years Lykke would travel with his mother to the various dig sites. Sofie would uncover pieces that would be put in museums, but more so find relics for the Scandinavian ministry of magic. Along with all that she would be invited places to lecture about her knowledge and work.

While they were at a dig site in Namsos, Lykke wondered off. He was eight. The boy was bored just sitting around in the tent. He wanted to walk around and look at everything. On the less important sites Sofie would often let him help in a small corner. This was not one of those times and that meant that the little boy would be stuck in the large tent that was used as an office. Little Lykke wandered off ending up in a fjord. There were three ovals made with stones. They were graves actually. His mother found him. she was frantic and upset that he had wondered off.

Nothing happened to him or the graves, but Lykke did have a curious new friend from that night on. Her name was Hulda and she was a ghost that had taken a strange but powerful liking to the little boy. It seemed they were attached from that day.

Hulda had been a shield maiden at the height of the great viking empire. Actually she was a also a witch but magic was seen in a very different way back then. Hulda was also a seer but didn't tend to accept that part of her. There was much pressure to have her join the völva and hone her skills travel and help the various settlements. It was a position of honer and the völva were seen as the woman who served directly under Freyja. Hulda wanted to fight with her father and go on raids. She had no interest in being restricted to the life of a wondering witch. In the end she as free to live her life as she pleased. It was during a battle that she fell because in the middle of the fight she had a vision. Something that even in her afterlife wondering around the fjord she was never able to decipher.

Growing up with his ghost Lykke grew to love all her old stories. She had even taught him the old ways of relying on the stars. that was what sparked his love for astronomy.

When he turned eleven he went off to Durmstrang and of course Hulda fallowed him there. It was different being somewhere stable. Before then it was a new place almost every month. At first he stuck mostly to talking to his ghost. A lot of kids thought it was strange when they finally figured out that Hulda was not one of the castle ghosts and was in fact stuck to the boy. Lykke found solace if the astronomy tower. Through the years he has learned to focus more on making friends with his peers and not just talking to Hulda, but she has gotten a little more pushy not appreciating being ignored.
