Likes: Astronomy, Exploring, Indie Music, Transfiguration, Calm People.
Dislikes: Charms, History, Liars, Repetition in Schedule, Loud Children
Strengths: Passionate, Skilled at Transfiguration, Fairly good with DADA magics, Impressively accurate memory, Very Loyal
Weaknesses: Awful at Charms (mostly as a result of effort- or rather, lack thereof- put toward it), Herbology/Potions, Temperamental, Emotional, Impressively unskilled at poetry and prose.
Overall Personality: To say that Vince is passionate is an understatement. When he decides that he wants something, he will work at it until he perfects it or dies trying. This attitude applies to his relationships as well; though he’s not quick to make friends, those he does can expect to hold that title from his perspective for a very long time, if not indefinitely. Vince is not especially insecure, though to say that he is arrogant is a stretch. As a Muggle-born, Vince has a minor complex which makes him feel as if he has to do better than his Pure- or at least half-blood peers to succeed. While not true, this has significantly helped him in school- at least, in the subjects that he enjoys.

Father: Vincent “Vince” Pearson (48, lawyer)
Mother: Rebecca “Becky” Pearson (44, novelist)
Siblings: Haley Pearson (22, student); Oliver Pearson (6)
Others: Charles “Charlie” Cassidy (41, family friend, godfather, and wizard mentor)
Birth Place: Unknown (Adopted from Belton, NY)
Overall History: Vince and Becky Pearson were a match made in heaven; he was a career-bound, hard worker, and she wished for the time and financial security to write professionally without worrying about publication deadlines. Their personalities complemented each other’s, and so they married just as he finished school, settling in a home just outside of Los Angeles. Their first child, Haley was planned, and when she was eight, they decided they wanted another.
Unfortunately, Vince Sr. was found to be sterile after a bad car crash, so they adopted from across the country in New York. The child’s parents were simply never found, and any DNA tests made did not help to find his family. With no leads after almost a year, he was put up for adoption and quickly scooped up by the couple wishing for a boy, naming him after his adopted father and referring to him by his middle name at home. Only eight years later, they had a pleasant surprise in the form of a son, learning that miraculously, Vince and Becky conceived a child despite his condition. Vince was not neglected despite being raised as an adopted child between two of his parents’ genetic children.
Despite being a wizard, Vincent’s childhood was unremarkable. The only clue to the onset of his magic was the occasional ability to create “fireworks” out of his hands in front of his older sister, though when asked to repeat the feat in front of his parents, he could not. Imagine the surprise of two well-off but otherwise mundane people when an owl delivered a letter addressed to “Mr. Vincent Hunter Pearson,” on the morning of Vince’s eleventh birthday, announcing that he was welcome to join a school in Salem, Massachusetts for Witches and Wizards. Initially thinking it to be a prank, his parents ignored it, but just two days later Vince Sr.’s best friend Charlie Cassidy visited and found the letter, revealing to the family that magic did indeed exist, and Charlie himself was a wizard.
After initial shock and confusion wore off, Charlie helped Vince in the preliminary process of getting his school supplies and learning the basics of magic and Wizard culture in general. After going to the Salem school, he was sorted into Aylward, much to his disappointment. Vince’s first year was a bit rough, as Muggle-borns tended to be looked down upon by those who weren’t, and he quickly realized that telling the bullies that he was adopted and his parents were probably wizards didn’t work. Despite his social failures, Vince found friends in the years above him, and learned that being in Aylward didn’t mean that he was mean and rude, but passionate and loyal.
Over the next several years, Vince learned much, finding that he had a knack for transfiguration and learning that he was extremely interested in astronomy. Given his personality, he got in a few fights here and there, but found release in the form of Dueling Club, and though he didn’t do great he had the anger management he needed. At home, his sister and brother remained unaware of his abilities, simply believing that he was in a private school across the country. His parents are unnerved by the whole thing, honestly, but support him despite this and happily provide him for the funds for school things. Just this year, his closest friends (Wade Henderson and Nicole Quincy) graduated from the school, leaving Vince alone once more, desiring new friends.
