Overall Personality: Jenissi is a sweet young man who is just a bit troubled. He trusted his parents to love him unconditionally, and instead they cast out his trust when they did the same to him. Despite this, he works hard to be less oblivious to other people's hearts, and works to better understand something he was originally taught was wrong or sinful. Though religious, it's not as over-powering or obvious as it was in his family, and he's still working it out with the whole 'being a wizard' thing.

Overall History: Jenissi was born to two hyper-religious parents who met through their church. He was born in Ghana rather than Korea, as his parents were on a missions trip with their kids. He didn't move back to Korea with his family until he accidentally set fire to a building and he could only explain it was "like magic."
But magic didn't exist. Like dinosaurs and evolution, his parents had convinced him of that. However, weird things kept happening as he was growing up, and it wasn't until he was fourteen it was explained by a kindly man coming to visit him and handing him a letter. The man explained how he was a wizard, and he would be welcome to join the other first years in the fall when the new school year started.
Havoc broke out in the family, and Jenissi was banned from even thinking about the letter. In a state of depression, he began shying away from church events, and it was only after he denied the summer missions trip to China did his parents finally believe he wanted to go that 'sinful school.' They gave him an ultimatum, either continue on as if he had never seen that letter, or be disowned. Hurt that his parents could do that to him, he surprised himself when it only took him a few days to know what he had to do, and began packing with tears burning his eyes the entire time.
He was faced with homelessness and papers stating he was officially disowned once he left his family. Heartbroken and lost, he wandered around Seoul aimlessly, with no clue where this strange "Wizarding World" even was. As luck would have it, the man from before found him, explaining he was the headmaster, and that Jenissi could feel free to stay in the dorms until the school year started.
He passed through his school years relatively undetected by others, getting by with satisfactory grades and not seeming very driven. He's been on and off with bouts of depression, but hasn't actually gotten diagnosed with it. Now that he's nearing his last year, he's scared of what comes next, especially where he'll live now that he has no home to return to.
