As soon as the young witch Ada Delacroix set foot back in her beloved home, she dropped her bags and began dancing in her foyer. Being away at New Zealand for the better part of the year had her yearning for her giant mansion. The Delacroix heritage was made of a very long line of wealthy Cajun blood. They could be traced back to the start of Louisiana -- not that Ada ever really cared about that nonsense. History was lame, and someone else can deal with that nonsense, she really just missed the big house.
There was, of course, a special occasion that called for Ada to return to her home. Her dearest friend Charlotte Richardson was having a baby! And of course that called for a baby shower. Ada offered her residence for such the occasion, making it convenient for Charley's family who lived rather nearby as well.
Ada bounced around the empty house (her parents were in a vacation home in who-even-cares-land) as she began prepping for the celebration. Pastel blue streamers were strewn everywhere, the furniture charmed the same color, Ada went all out. She ordered a cake from a local bakery before she arrived, and it would be delivered soon. Everything was going swimmingly. In the living room Ada pulled over a table and set down her several presents for the new baby boy. She was going to spoil this kid rotten.
A ring at her doorbell alerted Ada the cake had arrived. It was the final touch. The large cake was moved into the living room on a separate table. As Ada looked at the cake, she thought in retrospect she definitely maybe should have ordered a smaller cake. It may or may not have towered over her while it was sitting on the table. It looks like she would be eating cake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the next several days...
Everything was done. It was thirty minutes until company started arriving, and Charley should be arriving at any minute to go over everything with Ada. This celebration was going to be absolutely splendid.
