It was starting to feel like summer and that was pretty exciting as far as Robyn was concerned. School just felt stuffy and annoying,. He didn’t want to have to wear the stupid hearing aid that was now tucked in his pocket. He had been sat at the front of every class being told that it would be good enough and he should be able to keep along with the rest of his peers. Robyn just sighed and went along with it. He didn’t hear bad enough to get away with charmed quills and pens. It was just in his right ear, so he agreed to wear the aid in class just so he wouldn’t fall behind. It was like they were babying him and that wasn’t exactly something he liked. Just because he didn’t hear as well as everyone else didn’t mean he needed special treatment. Half the time he didn’t actually where the dumb thing anyway.
He would miss his friends though. That was something that was a bummer about summers. Often his family would take a trip to somewhere warm and exotic. Olle would go with his family off to Sweden. So they were often the world apart. Daisy and Gatsby would go to France for a while. It was like every one of the kids he hung around with would end up in a diffrent country. Robyn supposed it made them all well rounded and wordly. But he wanted to hang out with friends after a week of being stuck with just his sisters and his parents. It wasn’t all bad but there were times that Robbie wished he was completely deaf like his father so he didn’t have to deal with Onyx and Jett fighting over who saw the shoes first.
His dorm had been strangely quiet that morning. Olle wasn’t running around and running his mouth about the next great plan he had to get back at Paomet. Specifically his brother. Not that Dixon ever retaliated but Olle was convinced it was just the order of the world, he was meant to prank his brother on the daily and his houses cheating Quidditch team or the whole fabric of time would unravel.
So Robyn was on the hunt for his roommate. There were probably a million other things he could have been doing, like his Ancient Runes homework, but who really wanted to translate a whole paragraph of a dead language anyway? He wasn’t in the Dining Hall or on the Qudditch field. At a loss Robyn figured he would try out near the stables, maybe he had to talk to his dad, If not there was a chance that the Professor would know where Olle was.
He was almost there and heard some shuffling around the stables. Suddenly he felt light headed and his vision started to spin. Robyn didn’t realize that he forgot to take his medicine. Much like his hearing aid it was not something he liked having to deal with, and was really trying to wean himself off the stuff but it seemed his body had a different plan. Robbie reached out hoping there was a tree to brace himself against until the bout of vertigo passed. There was no tree and he ended up falling over. “Oh shit,” He spat closing his eyes tight and figuring the ground would just have to be were he would ride out the episode.
