trigger warning: miscarriage
She had been arguing with Hugo in the courtyard. She had been getting so frustrated with everything that her family thought about her boyfriend and she just... felt pain through her stomach. By the time she saw the blood on her thighs, she knew that something was wrong. Of course their family bond kept them from fighting any more and Hugo helped her to the hospital wing. The blood rushed down her legs and she had no idea what was going on. She had never been in so much pain in her life, and thought she was going to throw up from it. She was sure that Hugo thought it was some female problem, a forgotten period, but she knew that it couldn't be. She had missed two and was just lying to herself about what it meant. When Hugo asked her what kind of distraction she was looking for with her music, it wasn't just James's feelings about Scorpius. It was about how he would feel about her having a child.
The healers rushed to her, helping her into one of the clean and white hospital beds. They ushered Hugo out of the room and started to rush her with questions. Did she take anything. Was she feeling sick. Was she pregnant. Lily laid back on the pillows and felt a choked sob go through her throat as her lower abdomen cramped up more and her thighs became slick with blood. The healers tried to clean it up, but all seemed to stop at once. There was no amount of magic in the world that would help her now. They held her hands, they promised her that she would be alright and that there was nothing that they could have done to help her.
The healers sent a message to her Uncle Neville, sure that contacting the Headmaster at a time like this was protocol after what happened with her cousin Niqui. She always thought that Niqui was reckless for getting pregnant at Hogwarts, but now she knew that she owed her cousin a million apologies. She was sure that this would be something else that her family blamed Scorpius for, even if all of their hatred towards the man put her under impossible stress for months. The healers cleaned her off once the cramping stopped and tugged the sheet over her lower half.
"We're sorry, Miss Potter, you lost the baby."
