Everyone knows about fairy tales, right?
Storybrooke, Maine. That's where our story takes place.
Surely you've heard of it?
No? Ah, you must be new then.
Let us tell you the story, and you can decide for yourself
whether you wish to stay
or flee...
In our small town, nearly everyone is a actually
a character from either a fairy tale, a myth, a legend,
or a piece of popular fiction. We have Snow White,
Rumpelstiltskin, the Mad Hatter, Captain Hook,
Dr. Frankenstein, and practically everyone else. However,
until quite recently, everyone was under a curse.
They all believed they were real people from our world,
The World Without Magic, that is.
Who was the one to exile them into our world from their own?
The Evil Queen, of course. She goes by Regina in our world.
She did this as part of a revenge plot against Snow White
and Prince Charming. The curse made most of
the inhabitants of Storybrooke lose their memory of their true identities,
and have they've been stuck in Storybrooke for 28 years.
That all changed when Henry Mills,
the adopted son of Storybrooke's Mayor Regina Mills,
sought out his birth mother, Emma Swan. He convinced her
to come to Storybrooke, knowing that this would break the curse
thanks to a book given to him by his teacher, Mary Margaret Blanchard.
He told Emma that she was the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming,
and that she was destined to break the curse holding everyone in Storybrooke.
Skeptical, Emma decided to stay in Storybrooke and after only a few hours,
the clock in the clock tower started to move.
Time had finally begun to move in Storybrooke.
During her stay in Storybrooke, Emma slowly started to unravel things for Regina,
and while trying to poison Emma, she ends up poisoning Henry.
In an act of desperation, Emma kisses Henry, and with that kiss of true love
for what love is stronger than a mother's love for her child
the curse was broken.
Now all the residents of Storybrooke are piecing their lives together
while trying to find lost loved ones. What's more, people from the outside,
from our world,
have stepped across the town line.
Even with Regina's mother, Cora, dead, evil still lurks in every corner.
So, my new friends, do you think you have what it takes to live in Storybrooke?
Perhaps you're more adapt to be one of the few remaining in the Enchanted Forest?
Maybe you're even from another, unknown land?
Where ever you're from, we hope you stick around and enjoy your stay,
so long as you dreamed a dream.
